The Female Blue Moon Opera Singer, The Laser And Light Show, The Smoke, Before The Start Of The Match, Your thoughts….

Did you think it was shit, was watching on tv and only saw the tribute with the choir thought it was fantastic a big well done to the club..
I’m not talking about the tribute. Read the headline of the thread.

There was no need for the smoke, lasers, lights, and the blue moon opera singer

The rest of the tribute which was seperate was SUPERB, RESPECTFUL and TASTEFUL.

Yeah I wasn’t there unfortunately watching at home as I mentioned didn’t see all the smoke lasers so forth but the kids love all that stuff and it seems to have drifted into our game from the USA..

I am pissed off every game with that fuckin' dirge they call the PL anthem. It's as mind-numbing as the Uefa one. The opera singer was very good, the tribute to our ex-players was very appropriate. The light show should be at the end when we've won. I think the light show contributed to Khusanov attempting to emulate one of Dave Ewing's Back 'Eaders.

Wasn't that fussed about the light show, a bit over the top for a normal league game. When the opera singer started there was much mirth where I was sat. My brother applauded at the end and said 'I'm clapping because it's over with'. Probably sums it up for me really.

Have you not realised yet that you're not the target audience for it? Just addressed this elsewhere before seeing this so some of this may be repeated thoughts.

It's something for the kids and tourists, there's really no reason to be upset with it if it's not for you. If it wasnt there, they'd be nothing, we don't lose anything by having the lightshow. You can still sing during it if you wish, Chelsea fans did, about the only time they bothered to sing. When the song changed to love will tear us apart, a loud rendition of tearing cockneys apart broke out, we would never get that loud of a rendition pre-match without the lights how guidance. It creates a louder atmosphere than nothing, it caters to a different audience and does no harm. I say well done City for bothering, they dont have to do anything and there's no reason whatsoever to be against it.

Does it matter, some will like it some won’t,loads won’t be in their seats in time to see it. No big deal.

Yes, some of the fans will like it. We’ve now got a very diverse fan base. But as others have said, let the fans build up the atmosphere on the terraces, like we did before the United match, and then fall silence and show respect during the tribute.

As a fan base, do we really need smoke pumped out, a laser and a light show, and an opera singer belting out blue moon, whilst 50,000 fans stand in silence waiting for it to end?

Again. I thought the actual tribute was wonderful. Well done to the club.
