The Female Blue Moon Opera Singer, The Laser And Light Show, The Smoke, Before The Start Of The Match, Your thoughts….

Have you not realised yet that you're not the target audience for it? Just addressed this elsewhere before seeing this so some of this may be repeated thoughts.

It's something for the kids and tourists, there's really no reason to be upset with it if it's not for you. If it wasnt there, they'd be nothing, we don't lose anything by having the lightshow. You can still sing during it if you wish, Chelsea fans did, about the only time they bothered to sing. When the song changed to love will tear us apart, a loud rendition of tearing cockneys apart broke out, we would never get that loud of a rendition pre-match without the lights how guidance. It creates a louder atmosphere than nothing, it caters to a different audience and does no harm. I say well done City for bothering, they dont have to do anything and there's no reason whatsoever to be against it.
Do you not think the problem is the fact the club our thinking about tourists before real fans ?

Any links available of this?

My electric was out since the storm here yesterday and came back on around 6 tonight, so I missed the first half hour

I'd prefer not to have the light show but it doesn't bother me too much. I found the tribute quite moving.

The half time performance I think is a good opportunity for the club to highlight some of the different cultural backgrounds of the fans. There are always lots of Chinese people in the crowd these days. There's also lots of fat old men so like to see some fans doing races on the pitch and trying to score penalties or something.

Maybe they could have a race eating Chinese food for old people

Yes, some of the fans will like it. We’ve now got a very diverse fan base. But as others have said, let the fans build up the atmosphere on the terraces, like we did before the United match, and then fall silence and show respect during the tribute.

As a fan base, do we really need smoke pumped out, a laser and a light show, and an opera singer belting out blue moon, whilst 50,000 fans stand in silence waiting for it to end?

Again. I thought the actual tribute was wonderful. Well done to the club.
Literally nothing at all to be bothered about.

Some tourists are real fans. They'll spend a fortune to come to a crap game and be really excited. I sat next to a Chinese guy last season who had two phones. He was face timing a mate or something with one phone and recording the game with the other. Made me realise how special it is to see the team every week. He sang his heart out and had a great time.

Same season I was next to an old Irish fella who had flown in to Manchester, picked his young lad up in Preston, came back for the game, dropped his kid back in Preston and then flew home. I moaned that the tram was a big busy

I don't disagree some tourists give a shit.
But when they're will to pay over the odds which means proper fans get priced out that's when it pisses me off

So, fans get 10-game bans for smoking or vaping, but the club can flood the stadium with smoke before kick-off for their pre-match show, leaving me coughing my guts up in the East Stand? Absolute hypocrisy.
