The Female Blue Moon Opera Singer, The Laser And Light Show, The Smoke, Before The Start Of The Match, Your thoughts….

So, fans get 10-game bans for smoking or vaping, but the club can flood the stadium with smoke before kick-off for their pre-match show, leaving me coughing my guts up in the East Stand? Absolute hypocrisy.
Then you should write to the club, raising your concerns.

Do you not think the problem is the fact the club our thinking about tourists before real fans ?
And kids? No that's not a problem at all because they're not putting tourists ahead of real fans are they? it's not one or the other. what are real fans losing out on from this happening? Nothing. The real fans basically want nothing in place of it, most aren't even in the ground to see it and those that are dont have to sit in silence whilst its on, they can sing if they want and they did today.

Missed the smokey bit as still drinking (yeah I know, bad fan). When the tribute started I expected it to be Uber-cringe but it was actually really moving. As others have said it’s a very diverse crowd now, I don’t think we should be complaining when the club try different things. And overall a good atmosphere tonight, hopefully siege mentality kicking in

Wasn’t there but haven’t we had this stuff perhaps not the singer before so what’s the issue ? Plus isn’t it fairly normal for the bigger games

Yes, some of the fans will like it. We’ve now got a very diverse fan base. But as others have said, let the fans build up the atmosphere on the terraces, like we did before the United match, and then fall silence and show respect during the tribute.

As a fan base, do we really need smoke pumped out, a laser and a light show, and an opera singer belting out blue moon, whilst 50,000 fans stand in silence waiting for it to end?

Again. I thought the actual tribute was wonderful. Well done to the club.
Loved all the pre-match routines. Well done City.

Also excellent atmosphere. Lots of singing in the 3rd tier of the East Stand.

normally i don't mind the light shows, but as the lights went out and i realised there was about to be a light show/screens, i thought yes they're doing this for Tony Book. For it to then be a normal light show full of PR and hype on the screens, i was gobsmacked really - like i say i don't mind them normally (not my thing but my son likes it) but to do this when there were tributes to come just smacked of insensitivity, and a chance lost. I had though the screens were about to be filled with footage of Skip lifting trophies, clips from his career, all leading to the later tribute with the team.

So yes, on this occasion i though the light show was crap. But mainly due to it being the totally wrong occasion for this type of hype.

And yes, i know, the actual tribute followed once the teams were on the pitch.

God. What a misery. Some folk will find anything to moan about.

Doesn't really matter whether you like it or not, like it or not this is football in 2025 and it's not going to change.

They pamper to the tourists who lap it up, we were one of the first to do it, now every club doe it. Around me in 104 the tourists lap it up with their phones out and until we become shit and the tourists do one it's hear to stay
