And still - no President whom you would have preferred. No position on all of the topics I outlined.

You sir, are simply a propaganda machine in service of Trump, until such time as you make clear where you stand on the numerous simple questions I've stated - WTF? You can't even state your position on issues which you debate. This is worse even than lying about facts - you're not taking a stand and then, not having stated your position, arguing against others willy-nilly on the basis of taking a "neutral" stance after considering "both sides."

Well fuck the both-sides-ism. The world is round - but there are those who believe it's flat. Perhaps we should reconsider whether or not the world is round.

The earth is approximately 4 billion years old. But there are those who think it's only a thousand years or so old. And that dinosaurs walked with men. Perhaps we should debate this - giving both sides a fair shake.

Evolution and the emergence of traits among creatures is universally accepted among scientists and has been proven with experiments. But intelligent design argues that a divine creator actually directs evolution. Perhaps we should debate this - or better yet, mandate the teaching of intelligent design in our classrooms to let students decide.

Yes - it's only fair. We need to be open to "both sides." Which fucking misses the essence of science. Science doesn't care about sides at all. Instead, it proceeds on the basis of hypotheses, experiments, and repeatable results. Ideas that don't comport with experiment are discarded - they can't be true. Ideas that comport with facts are, for the moment, accepted as likely true - subject of course to revision should further advances in experimental evidence prove otherwise.
Sorry , I don't agree.

Not since it was annexed, no.
I understand that you are quite passionate about defining the territorial boundaries of China, but it's important to look on the bright side of things. At least we didn't exterminate the indigenous peoples of North America, nor did we trade Africans as commodities around the world. The situation isn't as bad as you might think.

Do you think I'm an American?

When did China abolish slavery btw?

You still have some slaves in modern day China.

It's all about the "world view". Maybe you should try to read or see some positive aspects of China? You are , I don't know how to say, worrying too much?

China did not undergo the Age of Exploration or engage in global colonial expansion. The Chinese mindset is fundamentally akin to that of farmers; we simply labor in our own land for our own survival, even in today's industrialized era. Does this make sense to you?

China is a colonial empire, it just destroyed, suppressed then Sinofied all the other cultures to expand around it rather than going abroad as it lacked the technology to do so at the time compared to Western Europeans, the same way Russia is still a colonial nation that colonised central and eastern Asia then Russified them.

China is still colonising right now where it is ethnically cleansing Xinjiang province and it Invaded now destroys Tibets culture. More Muslims in internment camps in Xinjiang province than the entire population of Gaza, over 2million according to Al Jazeera. Xinjiang is famous for its cotton production, wonder who is farming it so cheaply? (its slaves). https://www.reuters.com/world/china...d-labour-has-taken-place-xinjiang-2022-08-18/

Over 1 million Tibetan children forcibly taken from their families and sent to re-education schools, they come back scared or unable to speak their native language: https://news.un.org/en/story/2023/02/1133212

Can read the UN findings in 2022 on what human right abuses China gets up to while colonising their Turkic minority group Uyghurs:

China is even still trying to invade neighbouring Countries by pretending Taiwan was ever part of its territory due to this weird delusion that they get to claim every single bit of land varies different groups in the past used to rule over. China is not some country that existed for 1000s of year. It would be like the UK trying to claim ownership of various British Empire lands across the world or Italy claiming the Roman empire as at one point "they" owned it, complete delusion.

Didn’t you lot hear Musk yesterday? We’re all supposed to absolve ourselves of the guilt of our forefathers’ actions regardless of the atrocities they committed.

Or maybe that was just the Nazis who get to do that; I’m not really sure.

That’s disgraceful they should’ve just shut that press conference right down, he’s clearly not well.

Like many of us, I’ve lost relatives to dementia and it usually upsets and distresses me to see people like this. However, I’m finding it very hard to find a fuck to give for this spineless **** who’s played a leading role in helping us get to where we are today.

I wouldn't blame the US for withdrawing from NATO. It has been an anachronism since 1989 that has allowed European nations to shirk their individual and collective responsibility to defence at the expense of the US taxpayer.
Having said that what trump has done and will continue to do is pressure Europe to step up in this respect and pay it's share. I don't see complete US withdrawal happening as the arms industry has too many good times ahead in Europe.
USA spends 3.4% of GDP on defence.

You can't just deport people somewhere without agreements - God knows Brexit shows the world that saying it doesn't mean it will happen

I said this on another forum recently, three months into the year we’ll be at “Show me your papers” territory and it won’t be blond (ok, now silverish) haired, blue-eyed white guys like me being asked.

Many of us on here who said the US was on a path to fascism were called hyperbolic becuase, amongst other things the checks and balances of the US Constitution were there to ensure this could never hapen... and yet here we are.
