Atmosphere 2024/25

I don’t know how many cheap seats there are in the SSL3 how about asking for all those to move to the new stand up the back, then anyone else who wants to move goes lower down at at a higher price, let the flexi goods and tourists sit in the SSl3 instead.

I know we can’t play two new signings every week which added to the atmosphere yesterday (everyone was buzzing to see Marmoush), but you’re spot on.

We have the fanbase to create a great atmosphere, we just need to get the organisation and set-up right to have it consistently. There are ways round having hospitality, corporate and daytrippers who pat more around areas like 103-106 and 201-230, to allow NSL2 to become a proper home atmosphere stand. They can sell my seat in 105 for £2,500 a season if they want when I move to NSL2. But let NSL2 be for fans like me, across the board.

If we had a big drive now coming from the club, Supporters Club, City Matters, fan groups etc. for the next six months and promote it as our City Wall/Wonderwall/Blue Wall/93.20 Stand/Great Northern End… it would end up being that.

Not all those in the current singing sections have to move away from their areas if they want to stay near the away fans, but get a number of them plus all of us who are signers but not already in a singing area move to NSL2. If that happened, we’d have the best atmosphere in the league.

A big proper atmosphere stand that looked like this, would be arguably as marketable as the football team:

Imagine the noise from that if it was a proper atmosphere stand on days like yesterday afternoon/evening!

If it ends up being a bit of everything and therefore a bit of nothing, with no big drive by the club to make this something special, it will be a fucking massively wasted opportunity.

I’d genuinely be gutted to be honest.

Spot on post, look at this 3252 where LAFC brought supporters' sections together on one section under the 3252, if 1984 doesn't want to organise it then they can be part of it.

LAFC

Crystal Palace do it

Celtic do it

So ruin the atmosphere in ss3?

Why wouldn’t we just keep ss3 as it is and also have a proper home end in the new north stand

It won’t be a proper home end as it will be, from what we know.

There will be relocations from SSL3, as there will be from every other part of the stadium.

Because at the moment you have pockets in the SSL3 doted about, if you got all the singers from there plus anyone from the lower stands to relocate but at cheaper price into the new stand you could create a wall of sound from there, keep it at ssl3 prices at the back and you could get quite a few go for it, lots moaning about prices if they allocated say half that stand for £450! You get loads going there provided it’s for singing.

I hope to reallocate from SS3 to North Stand.
Looking to be closer to bus park.
65 next month so that hopefully remains a huge saving.

what was going on in 118? or lack of it actually. Was in 119 and could see 110-111, 115-116/17 singing and majority joining on the songs - then for some reason a big gap before 119 which was going on again.

Love a 5:30 sat kick off cause it allows for a good few beers before and under the lights I generally think it helps the atmosphere. Thought yesterday was great. Been a bit of a slog in recent months which is understandable considering the performances and results, but yesterday was quality. Onwards and upwards.

Hearts have got a fantastic support (and Hibs). They are generally friendly and good-natured and a lot of them follow City as their second team. Totally different to the Celtic and Rangers mobs.
Me and a few mates are heading up to Tynecastle for a game late season . Then a pint or two in the Tynecastle Arms afterwards .

it was around £70 for a ticket up there last night ?

there won't be any new season tickets in the new stand. club don't care and just want the once a season tourists who will pay 3 figures for a match ticket. wait until the hotel is finished !

club hate legacy fans and won't change until Soriano goes but i fear its already too far

I am all for free speech but where is the evidence the club hates legacy fans?

In reality we never had more than about 35000 legacy fans and some of them are dead.
To fill a 65000 seater ground we need more newer fans. Many of the new fans may not come from Manchester but even in our darkest seasons we had fans who used to travel from overseas.

Theres a huge numbers of city fans in greater Manchester who can’t afford to go regularly. Those same fans often fill the etihad for cup games. We already have the fan base to fill an expanded ground - the pricing just has to be sensible

The majority of our core match going support has always come from greater manchester and we shouldn’t lose that with the expansion

Somebody that goes once a season isn’t a tourist its somebody that goes once a season and most probably go more than that. A tourist is somebody that goes once ,full stop.

65,000?

Is there another 3000 seat expansion planned?

There are enough City fans in Gtr Manchester to fill the Etihad, let alone City fans from the UK, abroad, tourists and day trippers.

It’s all down to who can afford match tickets, and who will spend more on a match day. City know who they are targeting, so do we, and it isn’t City fans from Gtr Manchester.

It’s pretty much the same at every PL club, especially the big 6 PL clubs.
