Throwing him straight in wasn't ideal but we had little choice. He didn't have a great start to his debut but as others have said, you could look at Akanji for the goal, whose body shape and positioning was probably better to clear that ball.

And as a robust defender, that certainly won't be his last yellow card. But after that he pulled himself together when he could have fallen apart and did well.
Which is all I was trying to say, people claiming the media are having a pop without justification was my issue. He was poor so he got a poor write up. Marmoush was good so therefor he got a good write up. It is that simple really. Rico left back and Gvardiol in the middle was the option and as I have said a few times now my issue is with Pep more than the young lad, he was thrown in on Saturday.

Agree with that....and he probably stopped a second goal for them when Palmer broke away and squared across goal. When the ball was laid back he made a bloody good block when the shot eventually came. Maybe a game changing block. Yeh a poor opening 10 mins but give him a good run of games and then lets see.

I have a heart, but don't let it cloud what his performance was, crap. It can only get better for him but I don't think he should have played to begin with. That's on Pep for me. I am sure he is sat at home reading this, gutted with me pointing out he had a stinker. I was there and cheered the lad on, he got my support. By pointing it out here that it was a stinker of a start has zero impact on anything. The post I replied to was someone calling it a targeted attack. That's bonkers, is the love Marmoush has received targeted too then? Or did one just play well and the other didn't?
No you dont. He had a decent game besides a couple of mistakes. All you have seen are the mistakes so you can moan about him. Its what you have written about most, moan moan. We all saw those mistakes, we are not all hammering him like you.

Next match our fans will support him, give him confidence, encourage him. Proper City fans.

Its the same across all platforms..............to many rag cunts making out there neutral when we all know what there wanting :( fooking you think Scholes a die hard rag is gonna want anything but a City loss ?????
Is there not enough actual neutral co coms out there anymore ?????
Paul Scholes is not a die hard red, he's an Oldham fan!!

Seem that City aren't the only ones to allegedly suffer from a BBC anti bias! "She" is Emma Radacanu, British tennis player.

We could have played Gvardiol at centre half, although we would have lost something going forward, and played Lewis at left back, not ideal at all. Like you said not a lot of choice.

It's interesting that it is up to me for a solution on this, rather than the best manager in the game. I'd have gone Rico left back and put Gvardiol at centre back personally. I didn't mind the new lad starting initially but after hearing he hadn't even played a game in a month didn't sit well with me. Rusty, young, new league in a fragile team, we threw him in at the deep end and should have protected him more. Just my opinion, I am confident in believing I am right based on his performance.

I don't want to keep getting into it but yes, if you give a goal away and you are on a yellow card within 3 minutes then I believe you haven't started well. He then gave it away in bad positions shortly afterwards a few times. The awful header has nothing to do with Akanji, it is terrible technique. It was a bad game to test him in as Chelsea could and should have been a few up before we then got a foot in the game. They ran through us with ease and for some reason held back that second half, a combination of us being better and them taking their foot off the gas. He went off early second half and we went onto win. He will get a proper chance and my support every match day, we can't delude ourselves that it wasn't that bad etc. Cost us a goal, booked after 3 mins and hooked after 50 odd minutes.
I wouldn't have said he was hooked TBH, he can't play Wednesday and Stones needed the minutes.

Read my posts then you fucking idiot. It was a shite debut. He will no doubt get better, I look forward to his no nonsense defending and hopefully being at the heart of our defence for many years to come. That doesn't mean he didn't balls up big time on Saturday. I'm not obsessed, turds like you have an inability to read what I have put. The very original person I replied to was a paranoid idiot claiming he has been wrongly targeted. He wasn't, his performance was commented on. Just like Marmoush, who has had nothing but praise from blues and in the media because guess what........ he played well and the other lad didn't.
Insulting a respected longterm poster is rather cuntish, especially when you've only been here 5 minutes. Pipe the fuck down is my advice to save you getting banned; )

Think stinker is very harsh.
He clearly had a nightmare debut first 10 mins but after that showed masses of character as he steadied himself and looked very composed.
He made some excellent passes into midfield and put a very good block in which saved a goal.
He was thrown in at the deep end out of necessity and was not hooked at half time which could have easily happened given how he had started. Stones replaced him on the hour which I think was planned in view of wanting to give him some game time before Wednesday and the fact that Khusanov was on a yellow.
I for one liked what I saw in terms of his speed and physicality and think he will become an absolute defensive rock in the very near future.

Trouble with your ‘solution’ is that it involves Lewis at LB and he’s not, and never will be a full back, but would have taken one of our biggest attacking threats on the day by playing Josko at CH.
Thankfully, Pep usually comes up with the solutions, so we don’t have to, thank goodness.

are you joking?? Or do you really believe you know best. I mean, Rico at LB???

I presume our new friend didn’t see the blocks Khusanov made after he composed himself, with I might add from the help of his team mates.

Some great players have had nightmare starts, but it takes balls to gather yourself like he did and put a shift in as best you can after, and at 20 years old I suspect Khusanov wheelbarrows his balls around with him.

A stinker is what it most certainly wasn’t.

Nope we should don't what pep did play the kid Akanji there got away with no criticism he could of come across if he could read danger! Gvardiol ain't a centre back for em Lewis is poor at left back! Pep knew what he was doing! The lad after making that mistake didn't put a foot wrong..

Well well well were now seeing your true colours with your rantings and swearing.
I`ve obviously touched a nerve as others have done with your ramblings about the young mans 55 minutes.Who said he DIDN`T balls up ?? NOT ME !!
All I said was give him some slack and you go off like Mount Etna.
You`ll have a cardiac if you dont simmer down.
