What you call "sick in the head" is what was normal for the US and West for most of their history, and for the rest of the world today.

Its funny though when you look at what the anti Trump, "progressive" crowd considers "normal" today - masses of people on welfare / government who go around believing they should decide how their country should be run, collapse of societal structures such as marriage, make believe concepts of "equity" that collapse as soon as there is a fire or war, etc etc.

Yep, good question.
And no good answers really, stuff like AI is going to make things worse. But it does seem like we have moved to a stage where by default a small number of people are productive, simply because thanks to technology those tiny number of people can produce everything that society needs.
And the cost to society is not just financial, as any town with high proportions of welfare dependent people shows.

But the attached problem, as the recent elections in the US shows, is that the majority of these less or non productive (and typically Demrat voting) people
a) control government - because democracy - and hence rampant expansion of government "jobs", university "admin", welfare spending
b) Have an inflated view of their intelligence and capabilities because so many of them have BS college degrees, and no one told them the truth about themselves.

Couldn’t be further from the truth, can’t stand politics due to the corruption, however I mainly stick to the football forums. You do know that to be involved in a forum that you do have to join it at some point don’t you? Or does your opinion become louder the longer you have been a member?
