The same thing can be said about many other players we signed or wanted to sign

IMHO if we don't get at least one defensive midfielder in this transfer window (ideally two so we never allow Rodri to be overplayed again) we will not finish top 5 this season and have no chance of winning any trophy until next season.

Since Rodri's injury, Pep has clearly struggled to come up with an effective Plan B using our existing squad (and the Academy) so we need to buy. Failure to do so will impact this season and next.

I agree and I think our recent results have papered over the cracks a little, if we don't get some adequate cover in DM I think at the end of Feb we will be licking our wounds and realising we have very little chance of top 5.

I would be happily proven wrong though.

Where did you read 59m? I've only seen 75m.

59m is pushing it for me as well tbh, but I would maybe just about be okay with it.

50m pounds is more than fair, and I prefer if Juventus is quoting us fuck off prices that we indeed do fuck off away from this transfer.

Again, he is good, but like a poster above me just said, people are only hearing about him now, he isn't that good that we throw away money and bow down to Juventus like this.

Manchester United are about to buy a young LWB for about 28m, about the same deal as our young CB potentials.

Let's keep that going, and get 2 of those imo, LB and RB.

We all know how important Rodri was, is and will be again to the team but Pep has struggled with a lot more than trying to come up with a "Plan B". Much of the time he's had to try and find two fit CBs, any kind of right back and fit midfielders with two decent legs. For the first 15 games he seemed to cope OK.

I'd suggest that working 5 days a week 9-5 is probably not a great idea given that the window closes at 11pm.

A credible way of doing these things would be working day and night over the next 72 hours, no ?

I think I’m a bit more relaxed then most on this.

Yes, I can see the need and we are WiDE open, these new CB’s will be in for a shock.

However, our best achievements have been based on waiting for the right player (Dias, Rodri, Haaland) all came a season after the need.

I would much rather wait for first choice

Completely agree. Those lads might end up brilliant hopefully, but they’re not likely to help us this season. It wasn’t even a position we desperately needed to strengthen, but if the club thought so then it should have been someone ready now.

Agree on Marmoush too, he looks like he could be a wonderful signing.

We should have been looking for a right back before two unknown kids who might be good but not sure why we had to sign them in January when we need experienced players,
