A few personal observations on the food and drink options taken during my 1st visit to the Etihad (Brugge)

I remember hearing about that. I don’t blame you but boy oh boy I miss my meat and potato pies! I always thought Holland’s were the best being an Ecclesian brought up on them so to speak but the ones we had in the CBL for years were better. I want them back!! (*stamps foot*. Owww that hurt with my poorly feet. Serves me right for being a baby!! ;-) ;-) )
I worked in Hollands once (Wigan??)
Can't remember the location exactly but we left with a tray of hot, freshly baked pies. Wonderful.

Tickled by the idea that real City fans drink in Ancoats before a game. If you'd tried that even a decade ago you'd have been drinking in a carpark before a crackhead mugged you. Funny how cities change.

Regardless, me and my old man meet an hour before at the south stand bar and have a beer or two. Usually meet the guy who stands next to us there, and occasionally we'll have a pie.

The area does need a few new bars to cater for the co-op crowd. I think as PB is suggesting our food vendors outside are as good as they get in this country. I miss the seven brothers tinnies in the ground.

I don't drink before or after a game, I rarely even get something to eat, if I did want to it'd be something quick and cheap.

Human adults are like toddlers now who want to have their bellies filled every hour, being in the stadium without consuming calories is somewhat edgy now.

Don’t think they’ve ever been made anywhere else but Haslingden or Baxenden which is a few miles further north. Unless it’s the frozen shite they make.

I grew up on Hollands Pies living nearby but there’s plenty better out there now.

Were I local or a regular, I'd absolutely agree. I'd not be bothering with any of it. Booze spoils the attention/vision (!) imho so not a great mix.

But it was a big day out so different gravy than the norm.

Plenty of real City fans have been drinking around Ancoats & the Northern quarter area since we left Maine Rd over 20 years ago.

I honestly don't know what any of this means, sometimes I just want a pie for my lunch.

I quite liked MDs but I like that sort of down to earth place. The chippy outside the ground is good too, and the wall to eat chips.

In the ground I buy nothing. Expensive, miserable service tbh, corporate consumer crap, I'm there to watch a match not to give them ALL my money.
