Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

This is not the City DNA. Trying not to get to emotional but what is this? This is one of the shittest Performances ive ever seen since I follow them. Sorry but theres a drastic cut needed and consequences for player who played today.

Pep needs to „the academy is ready“ follow a real action.
You can’t have followed them for long? Try from 1964 still very poor performances outweigh good ones about 4 to 1.

Guy does have his priorities in place :)

Wish he would bat more to us like Joe does
Yeah shame Joe isn’t used more or Nedum.
I can’t understand why Nedum isn’t used at all.
He’s really eloquent, makes really good points and he’s actually a blue.
As a pundit he pisses all over Richards.

Totally agree. I think other coaches have passed him by now. Our style is a busted flush and all season pep hasnt even tried to be different

Pep setup is 100% the right way to play, But it needs the players that are brought to the club to play in their right positions, NO full-backs, No holding midfield players, 100% give Pep a starting 11 in the right positions and we wipe the floor with Arsenal today.

We need 2 holding Midfield players including Rodri, We need a left back and Right back plus cover, We need to replace KDB and Silva and a new keeper, It's a very big mess at the moment and we will do well to win the FA cup and a Top 4 place with what we have at the moment.

Forget injuries for a moment we have far bigger issues in this squad.

We have a board incapable of addressing the obvious issues in this team. We have zero natural full backs in the squad but 7 centre backs. One defensive midfielder and one striker and an abundance of attacking midfielders who lack creativity and goal threat. It’s incredibly lopsided.

Then there the big issue of Pep. He’s the GOAT when he’s got the tools at his disposal but that’s not the case now. It’s true that no one should expect this current side to be challenging for major honours. But at the same time we should not be performing this bad.

We’ve spent two months of the season in pure relegation form, we consistently throw leads away and get heavily beaten by almost any half decent well drilled side. Pep seems so concerned about masking our weakness that he simply doesn’t let us play to our strengths.

The fact we’ve spent near £150 million in this window already and not a penny of it is on what this side currently needs is astonishing.
For context, Bournemouth have been playing without 9 injured players. I’d also hazard a guess their squad cost a tad less than ours. Forest aren’t exactly stuffed with galacticos either.

One of our biggest problems is that almost every other team nowadays is better organised, fitter and more motivated.

Actually, that’s three.

Disclaimer: I am making this post simply because I always do and I guess I’m superstitious!
I haven’t seen one nano second of the game, I read about 8 or 9 posts on the match day thread at the beginning.
However I still maintain that the Boys in Blue never gave in. They fought to the end.
Whatever happened on that pitch today I doubt that any one of our players said to themselves‘I’m not going to try’. I doubt that they expected to lose by that many, I doubt that they gave up.
It was a very bad day on the field. Rubbish happens and they will be travelling home tonight feeling depressed.

This sounds bad but that is my hope as, obviously, I am not travelling with them, that that is how they are feeling because if they aren’t then I guess they are not the team I love. I stand with them when they win. I will not disrespect them when they lose. I will just say. You can do so much better Boys in Blue. Please come back and show us.

Shout me down, insult me (or not because you are always kind to me) tell me off for defending them but hopefully you will also acknowledge that I am as gutted as you all are.
Thank you.
Sorry @jimharri … We are MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD (STILL) :-)
You really don't want to see any of it. But trust me; the first goal, in particular. A certain individual played a minor, but not insignificant, role in the concession of said goal.

Another silly rant that doesn’t actually say anything.

My point was they are not “utterly mediocre”.

Judging by the CL table they’re currently the 3rd best side in Europe.
Presumably they’re a much better side than Real Madrid, Bayern and PSG on that basis too?

And Villa are the eight best, even though they got turned over by Wolves yesterday?

Now that is a silly comment.

Iraola, Emery, Enrique
Look, we gift wrapped two very special presents today and played in slow-motion - especially the second half. But to me, one season of dipping - albeit a dramatic dip, doesn't in any way detract from Pep's coaching ability. Same with Klopp/Ancelotti etc - their long dry spells don't take anything away from their reputations. Same with Pep (who has probably won more than those two added together in many fewer years) - the situation will probably increase his desire to build a team worthy of him.

PL now is pace, strength and power. Our slow, side and back passing and possession has won us so much but now is ineffective esp with the personel we have. Every team now seems to have a good engine room and pacy wingers that kills our technical but slow and weak players when we lose the ball
And that is now the way forward.

We need pace all over the pitch. Years ago we didn't need to rely on pure raw speed at the back. Walker aside we haven't had any turbo defenders. Teams rarely got a kick.

Our midfield was used to getting the ball on the half turn and playing the ball out wide for Sterling and Sane etc... to apply their raw pace.

No we are so fucking slow. It's boring to watch. And that ridiculous high like needs abandoning before it costs us top 4. Stones and Akanji are probably the slowest defenders at the club. But yet we defend 10 yards into the Arsenal half. It's football suicide. We are asking the opposition to play a ball in behind!!!!

Arsenal were excellent today and deserved their win. You cannot gift two goals, and nearly a third, with poor passing in your defensive third, and that's exactly what we did.
Ederson's absence was pivotal. Arsenal closed the passing lanes from defence and it made nervous players more vulnerable to taking unnecessary risks. Ortega's distribution was unusually poor too. Arsenal let us have some possession but pressed aggressively in the right areas to deny any time and space on the ball and tracked any off the ball runs. They were really good. Nevertheless, at 1-1, we had a genuine foothold and were creating chances before we equalised. Then we give the ball away again for them to score. It kicked us in our goolies and gave them the momentum that they built upon.

The only way to solve this is by buying some young defenders nobody has ever heard of in the hope they turn out good in 3-4 years.
do you work for sky in first half they were still crucifying that youmg lad from last week just incase anyone forgot or did rags new world beating cb get shown up today
