Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

You can blame Pep for that third goal because it’s the one we concede in almost every single match we play. Every player at least 20 yards inside the opposition half, Kovacic or Gundo or Foden or KDB or Gvardiol being caught in possession and them running straight at our goal with not one challenge being made. 3 passes later and they’re one on one (if not 3 on 1) with our keeper. Every single week and that is all on Pep. If you haven’t got the players to play one way, either get those players in or, play a slightly different way.
We’ve obviously stayed too loyal to too many players and I really do understand that, given what happened last season.
However the evidence has been there for weeks if not months now that this group cannot play with the intensity of previous seasons, so playing in a different way is necessary.

Finally, if people really think that a right back and a DM will somehow make us into what we were, they’re very much mistaken.
Rodri playing in that team, today, would have made very little difference to that second half capitulation and all the other second half capitulations we’ve had this season.
Mentioned it a while back but the games early on at home to Brentford and especially Fulham was an indication of what was to come. Can't disagree with anything you've said.

For being the best Manager in the world by a country mile, Pep is sometimes so wrong that it's a puzzle
Forget any Plan B or system change and the only time I have seen something different was last week with the long ball over the top vs Chelsea
Chelsea played a high line and left lots of space behind. Arsenal didn't.

Another stat, Arsenal blocked 3 of our shots, we blocked a big fat ZERO of theirs. Our defenders stand like statues instead of closing down, they do that arms behind their back and stand sideways shit.
That deflected Partey shot off Stones, Akanji for their third turns sideways.
Put your bloody bodies on the line, and if you have to take one on your face or the nob then so be it.
That's a big bug-bear for me - players putting their hands behind their back to avoid a penalty being given, when it robs them of any control over a challenge. Today Stones did that; turned away with his eyes shut as the shot came in for that 2nd goal - it hits him on the back then goes in - instead of him going and fronting it up, and blocking the fucker with his knackers, if necessary.

A great equaliser from Humble Earl; now we just need to steady things down for a few minutes - can we sit on the ground for a minute or so - (like Arsenal players have been prone to do)....control the tempo more....can we fuck!

Yes, we had some bad luck today but there were too many shocking errors spread throughout the team. Half of them were below standard, and you can't afford to carry players against the top boys. You can't afford self inflicted errors - as we know; the top teams don't make them. You can't afford a 2nd rate keeper - their keeper saved 2 certain goals with great reflex saves while Ortega was parrying them in, or misplacing passes.

Sorry to go on, but most of them need a rocket up their arses - Pep included. Felt very sorry for our fans there against those smug twats, but, at 5-1 there's plenty to be smug about, innit blud!

Too slow, too many poor passes, no press on the ball, club still fckin about trying to sign someone, if they are good enough to play 4-5 years at prem level then just buy them, if not, stop negotiating for lesser players that will end up like Kalvin Philips. Fck me c'mon City, we need top 4 (5).

He looks decent, qualities a mile off, not so sure....David Silva, Aguero, Bernado you could see instantly, after about 15mins of debuts, wouldn't put him anywhere near that on 'immediate' impressions, but certainly looks better than some others.
Silva was average until the second half on the season

Bernardo was just a sub or a bit part player until his second season

Aguero was class from day one I’ll give you that

Reading most of this thread everyone is getting blamed for this seasons massive drop off, players pep injuries to slow no press or pace not buying better players. When we was at the height of our success can you imagine the fallout if we then started selling players when they reached 29/30 or refusing them new contracts and were replacing them with upcoming younger players 23/24 then having a huge drop off . City will come again not this season so fans need to calm down and stop slagging players and manager off for giving us the best football memories we shall never forget.
