Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Fucking hell, I make that 40 goals conceded in all competitions since the start of November when the wheels fell off.
Was just about to post the same , dogshite , even the cunts over the road aren’t as bad. And they have Coco the clown in net , Warwick Davies as a CB , and Maguire and De Shite ambling around.
Our system looks flawed , we’ve been sussed out big time. Defend deep , ball into midfield , two passes and they’re through.
We look so predictable now.

Weirdly perhaps, I've been more pissed off with a few of the draws this season than the loss today. I've pretty much written this season off and just want it to end really so we can rebuild and hopefully come back refreshed from a season of being a bit shit. Aside from the financial aspect I'm not really arsed where we finish as long as we stay up, finish above the rags and see the back of 115.

We have been due a pasting all season. Pep legend 90% - but the 10% is just as important and the 10% is the failure to start rebuilding after the treble season. We have never had a solid defence under Pep but we never needed one. Kept possession high up the pitch and if we did lose the ball recovered it in 5-10 seconds. Defence was never under pressure because the opposition couldn’t get out of their own half. Most of that was the relentless tempo of players in their prime - any young dynamic and aggressive team now we simply cannot compete against. Respect to Pep sticking with his experienced players and faith in his tactics but can’t get away from the fact that we should have started the process of replacing players 2 or 3 years ago.
Great post and sums up the past and present perfectly.

The original post talked about the shankley-dalglish years you silly billy.
I know, but they still never managed 4 in a row so it obviously wasn’t an infallible method.
Also, it’s a completely different world as it was a lot easier back then.
They could buy whoever they wanted, making themselves better and weakening the opposition which is obviously the currently the Bayern Model.

When Shankly and the rest were doing it they could also do it at any point in the season.

Too many tired players making poor decisions on the ball and too many tired players not moving into space fast enough to make angles for their teammates. Greater squad depth will help but it may not solve everything quickly. The effects of this season might not be worked off for another year.

There's no shame admitting they are done. They've been to the well more times than any other team in English football history

The Premier League is the hardest in the world for a reason and like you said going too well every time the water runs out takes its toll, I will say 4 times in a row being the champions of england is like 10 years in a row, other leagues

Also, 6 in 7 is overlooked because of the 4 in a row

FFS are you being thick as fuck to wum?

The 2 league tables I’ve cited are all the conclusive proof anyone with a brain cell would need to conclude they aren’t “utterly mediocre”.
United beat them with 10 men. Have a minute to think about that.

They’re an average side, certainly not a patch on any of our championship winning sides.
