It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

There isn't a KDB replacement he's probably been the best midfielder of the past 15-20 years. With Foden, Bobb, Echeverri already at the club and at least one big potential signing in that position we seem aware of the task at hand at least.

I'd still like us to replace Clichy!
Absolutely incredible player. Still not David Silva though. The best ever in a City shirt IMO. (I know others will disagree and that’s OK. I thought I would never see a better player than Colin Bell).

Like you, I never thought I'd see anyone better than Bell. Merlin and KDB make for a difficult choice now.
My hope is KDB makes the smart move for his legacy and departs top tier football (aka to the MLS) at the end of this season. Love what he has done for us but we need to move on and so does he.

Not even Messi succeeded in making me watch MLS but Kev would definitely make me catch some games. Especially if he were still in sky blue.

I'd prefer that over him struggling with us

Kyle Walker agrees regarding KDB & Silva. I doubt we'll ever see their like in a City shirt again. Both are club legends & King Kev definitely deserves a statue, but I agree with you both, in that Silva is on another level & personally he's the best City player I've ever seen.

If I had to put them in order, it'd be:

1. Merlin
2. KDB
3. Najinsky

PS: Kyle Walker deserves a statue too. He's the best English right back in top flight history imo...

Walker has been an amazing signing. However, he said he wanted to leave in the middle of a season when he suffered injury after injury.
That's not a good look.

All things considered, he did what was best for him & his family. His leaving wasn't ideal for City, but I think City fans turning against him on matchdays & online, & his private life being the subject of the gossip colums made up his mind to leave for a fresh start.

He's ANOTHER key player we had no backup for, which is totally on City & Pep with his small, elite, versatile squad philosophy.

Rubbish we have 2 world class players for every position

I'm sure I heard it somewhere

Minimum RB and CM at the moment.

One to watch - GK, AM, CB.

I still think a forward too maybe - especially if Grealish leaves and Doku can’t stay fit
Finding a taker for Grealish will be one of Hugo's first moves, not a chance pep wants him about. Gonna be an interesting summer with the long term planning involving players not cutting it, older players, HG contingent, loans coming back etc

Should be fun.
