We need to use every opportunity to get some more game time into Marmoush, Gonzalez and Khusanov and the young players Macatee, O'Reilly and Rico but at the same time we don't want it to be completely chaotic. At the most perhaps introduce Gonzalez off the bench late on if the game is under control.

-------------Ortega
Khusanov-Akanji-Dias-O'Reilly
----Gundogan-Grealish
----------Marmoush
--Macatee-Haaland-Doku

Formation wise who knows

At the very least I hope to see thesr players play:

Bobb
O Reilly
Lewis
McAtee
Khusanov
Reis

Then whatever the rest is doesnt matter, these 6 deserve to play, if any one of them cant be trusted in such a match just sell in the summer bc whats the point in keeping them.

Grealish probably should play? Im just confused as it seems Pep doesnt want to use him at all and is angry with him.

Personally think Pep should just abandon him as an attacking winger, he and Bernie did a good job in the treble, but most people dont even want to see Bernie RW, we want to see him in the middle, just do the same with Jack.

Maybe we use O Reilly and Lewis as wide attacking fullbacks?

Grealish in the middle with KdB and Gundogan.

Marmoush, McAtee, Bobb up top.

Question on Grealish. Does anyone know why he has fallen out of favor? Is it a fitness thing or a work ethic issue? I know Doku is injured. But Savinho is better on the right. Grealish doesn't seem to even be an option. Anybody got any juice on this?

24 voted for a loss. What the hell...

Very strange things have happened in the Cup over the years. That's why it's still rather magical to me. More magical than the Champions League, where everything is weighted so that the usual suspects get through, and Real Madrid win it preferably (to the powers-that-be, that is).
Take it seriously, don't turn up thinking it's won before they've even kicked a football, pick a mix of youth and experience, and City should be winning this by a five-goal margin.

Word on the street is he enjoyed himself a bit too much when he became a father and turned up to training a couple of days later not exactly fit for purpose, which presumably won't have gone down well with Pep.

I would like us to start this way.

Was going to post something similar, but gave up as i couldn't get Stones or Marmo out because i think they will be playing against RM.
The temptation is that we put out a bench 11 but we just don't have a full set to play.
I've no fucking idea what Pep is going to do lol.

Ideally, I would not have Stones there, but you have to have some experience in the back line if you are going to also play Khusanov and O'Reilly.
You could move O'Reilly to Reis position, with Gvardiol back into LB and switch it at half-time if things are going well. Haaland needs a break and Marmoush is the obvious replacement; it is also a chance for him to get on the scoresheet.

Pep's a winner, so will want to win this i think. Probably more so than the fans or the club!.
I suspect he'll put out a strong side, look to go a few goals up at HT and then shut the game down and switch out the old players for the new. Heavy rotation for sure.

Can't see the more delicate players getting on. Stones, Dias, Ake, not really fully fit so they won't be risked.
Gundo shouldn't be on the park against RM so he may start.

I can see a rehash of the 1st eleven we had against Salford.

Nico will have to start to get him up and running.
