Dumbest thing you have read on bluemoon?

didn’t we have people saying we should sign Adama Troare a few years back? You know who you are

There was a lot of nonsense in Pep's first season about how we'd made a mistake appointing him because his methods would never work in England. Now, everyone's opinions can be proved wrong about football matters, even when (unlike me!) they have vast experience in the game and a fantastic insight into it. Thus, it's a bit of a ****'s trick to use hindsight to belittle someone for being proved wrong simply about not rating a particular player or manager.

However, in Pep's early days at City, a surprisingly large number of posters on her made categorical and dismissive comments about him that were almost offensively disrespectful given his record when he arrived. To me, that's the football take that I can remember as having entailed what I can call only rampant idiocy on the largest scale.

This was also a good one: "Kompany is overrated"

Smith-Rowe will be as good as Cole Palmer and Saka put together AND Palmer will be at Spurs in a few years

I completely stand by that.
ESR is one of the best players outside the big six who (if you actually watch him rather than see him on MOTD) is very clearly too good for Fulham and after his initial burst, Palmer is calming down to about the level I thought he'd be. Saying "he'll be at Spurs" means "he's a really good player who will be at a club challenging the top four regularly but perhaps not that world class level required for the very best clubs like the Bayerns and Madrids and Citys". In fact I literally said exactly this in the thread you linked on the same page.
And where are Chelsea? Fourth. So actually I got that spookily bang on didn't I? He went to a Spurs level team.
Dumbest thing you've ever read on a place where people regularly want to sack Pep Guardiola? Dickhead.

It wasn’t posted on this forum but it did make its way here from another forum so I’m putting it in
Does anyone remember the (Millwall?) fan years ago who was trying to buy his own season ticket?

Funniest thing I have ever read about football by a country mile

I think almost every pundit said Pep could not succeed in English football. The only one to get it spot on was Henry Winter who said:
“He will change English football.”

Oh God, forgive me...

What's a "Clarkie"?
If memory serves, Darren Fletcher was suspended for the 2009 CL final (that's how old this is btw) Someone made a joke thread that Celtic would have a minute silence in the Old Firm Derby because of it. Poor Clarkie bought it hook line and sinker, the rest of the tread was just people roasting him. He became a Bluemoon meme from then on.

I seem to remember he used the line "Ranger should tell them to go swivel"

I remember it well and could name names. A number of them resented Joe Hart's removal.

Even worse than that lot, where you can use basic football ignorance as an excuse, was a small number of people who didn't really rate him right up until the treble win. You'd see them referring to his "brainfarts" and "No plan B" every time we fell to some flukey defeat. They didn't even have ignoracne as an excuse because the evidence of his brilliance was right before their eyes with results.

Worst than that, though, which is ultimately just a football opinion, however flawed, was this which I nominate as the ultimate stupidity i've eve seen on this forum:

There were a number of posters who argued that Soriano and Txiki had joined Manchester City because they were Barcelona fans who wanted to ruin the club for fun. The spirit-sapping idiocy and lack of intelligence that it takes to actually believe that makes me feel a bit depressed.
