Priced out?

I did the stadium tour over Christmas was talking to the tour guide about the hospitality packages. And the prices are absolutely extortionate! You could book a two week holiday abroad for most of them. I’m paying almost a grand for my season ticket these days. Don’t think it’ll be long before I’m priced out

My mate, who lives in London, was invited to a corporate box (10 people) for the Brugge game. He loved it, thought the food was great, and open bar for beer and wine (pay extra for spirits).

He asked his boss how much it cost and was told £145K For the season, includes ALL home games. If that was 33 games with long runs in all comps, the club are getting more than 400 quid per head for every game, no matter who we are playing !

This is the money the club want, having someone pay 35 quid for a seat via a season ticket really is lost revenue .

Is there a similar letter going to the club about ticket prices for Citizen Matchday members too? @Alex - City Matters
I’ve already raised this with the Club on a number of occasions, but it’s certainly crossed our minds - and hence the inclusion at the bottom of this letter. It’s an absolute travesty that fans are asked to pay such high amounts, and Brian (the recently elected matchday member representative) is doing a lot of work across the piece for this group of fans.

Whatever you are doing Alex it's something and I for one thank you for that. It's a thankless task but as I said thanks anyway.

Brilliant effort and it’s great to see so many groups coming together. We need one voice.

Unless I’m missing it I can’t see the official supporters club?
the clubs running dog lackys haven't got the bolas to question or criticise blessed are the OSC for they shall inherit tickets they don't deserve

Cheers Alex, and thanks for the reply

Please keep up the good work. Whilst I remain unconvinced of the concept and influence of City Matters no one can challenge your dedication in trying to get ALL fans a better deal across many different topics.

I appreciate it's not only about the ticket prices, and the way $purs are treating their fans, it's also about the lack of success and trophies at Spurs.

$purs fans have had enough, just like fans of other clubs have up and down the country of the way clubs are treating the fans.

Seems to be a hot topic on the BBC Football site this morning.

Liverpool explained the steps they had taken to hold "meaningful engagement" with fans over ticket prices in today's statement announcing a freeze of general admission and season ticket prices for the 2025-26 campaign.

They said a survey was sent out to 500,000 supporters in October asking for views on ticketing-related topics.

Key issues highlighted by the 62,000 supporters who responded to the survey included access to tickets and the process used to buy tickets online.

The club said they had an "ambition to make ticket access a realistic goal for all supporters", adding that they would now open discussions with the Liverpool Supporters Board on how to improve ticketing policy.

Fans from Liverpool joined supporters of rival clubs Everton, Manchester City and Manchester United in protesting at rising ticket prices during Premier League matches in November.

United fans held up a 'Stop Exploiting Loyalty' banner along with their Everton counterparts - in support of a Football Supporters' Association (FSA) campaign - before their teams played at Old Trafford.

Similar banners were unfurled by Liverpool and Manchester City supporters during their game on the same weekend.

Gareth Roberts, the spokesman of Liverpool fan group Spirit of Shankly, explained the group's support of the protest, which followed a 2% rise in ticket prices ahead of this season.

"It’s time for clubs to remember that their wealth and success are built on the unwavering loyalty of their supporters.

"Raising prices when financial pressures on fans are at an all-time high is an insult. We’re proud to unite with fans from Manchester in this campaign to fight for fairness."

Wonder if things are about to change?

The problem is that for every fan that cant afford to go then somebody will jump in there place ..........sadly thats the modern game for you

Newcastle United's season ticket prices for next season have again been raised after the decision by Premier League rivals Liverpool to freeze their own prices.

Newcastle have increased season ticket prices by five per cent in the previous two years. The club is working within tight profit and sustainability rules (PSR) that have restricted spending and mean they must try and increase their revenue from various areas.

This summer will see around 10,000 supporters who were locked into a 10-year price freeze scheme introduced by Mike Ashley automatically start paying more after the deal ends. And Wor Flags, who are backing NUST's stance, tweeted that this should counter balance hikes across the board.

Responding to Liverpool's post about freezing their prices, Wor Flags said: "With the 10-year deal ending, NUFC will be benefitting from over 10,000 supporters paying 50-60 per cent more for their season tickets. Hopefully, they follow suit to the below and don’t increase beyond that, they don’t need to."
