PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I don't think there is any doubt that a section of Liverpool fans are the most embittered by our success. If you grew up believing that there is no club in history like your own, then someone comes along and stops you reclaiming your throne, smashing records along the way, who claws back huge points deficits from you, and knocks the saintly beads from your icon's hands, it becomes more understandable. Their forum is utterly toxic and they will NEVER, EVER believe that they were not cheated from what was rightfully theirs. The verdict will not matter - if we are innocent, we bought it (the tribunal): if we are guilty, we bought it (success).
The majority of fans who post on their forum are the new breed of supporter, who's only information comes from social media sites.
They have probably never set foot in the UK,let alone Anfield .
They use the 115/130 as a crutch to deflect from the real truth, that they want to be us and are jealous of our success and the fact that we've had the temerity to take their trophies, which historically should have been there's.
There's 115 chargeses they cry,you must be guilty, well lads and lasses, you above all should know don't convict anyone, until you have had a trial.
Because sometimes the truth comes out, remember Hillsborough, Heysel ,the Postmasters scandal all found guilty at the time, before the facts were known.

If we prevail, then there's a huge story to be told and the narrative will completely flip as to why the case was even brought against us in the first place, considering the UEFA case and CAS verdict.
You can't fool all of the people all of the time, so if the media doesn't start asking tough questions and demanding answers from the PL and their cronies then, the whole mainstream media will be complicit imo.

"The whole mainstream media WILL be complicit", where have you been for the last few years?

TBF, they weren't wrong about Heysel though.

I expect our club are a bit more grown up than that.
whats not grown up about not doing business with a person who actively disparages you on national radio, there are multiple clubs we could send our promising talent on loan to and they arent the only game in town by any stretch, if you do someone a favour and they come out and criticise you why would you continue to do them that favour, i wouldnt say thats being childish at all.

All he said was he thought our lawyers have dragged the case out, it's hardly criticism. To react to that by refusing to do any more business with his club - when it clearly must be advantageous to us as well to do that business - seems a little petty to me.

I sincerely hope somebody at City listened to the McAnthony and ensure we never do business with his little club again.

Absolutely mental that he goes on national radio and says that whilst he has players on loan from City.

Get it sorted City
I'm just listening to at least part of the show on YT, so far he's been nothing but complimentary. What have I missed?

I didnt hear the context of it but that take is ridiculous, what is the benefit of us to drag the case out, the reality is that evidence takes as long as it takes to be submitted and looked over and presented properly, should we negate legal precedent and due dilligence for the sake of quickness so the press and the pl are happy, lets not forget it took them FOUR years to investigate the case so the fact that we have spent half of that time again defending it would seem like a fair time line, a more accurate summation by him would be to say that you want to see the case given the levity it deserves and that will take as long as is necessary to reach a fair and accurate conclusion.

So while it may seem a little petty to you and i can see your point, it was remiss of him to come to such a conclusion and as i said there are many other clubs that city could send their loan prospects too who would welcome it without feeling the need to go on national radio and make silly statements.

No he didnt. He said our lawyers will drag it out and out as long as possible to exhaust everyone and then insinuated we will write a big cheque to make it go away.

Anyone who isn't cheap point scoring with the listeners doesn't say that.

As you say, it makes no sense for City to want to drag it out. Anyone claiming we're doing that is a fucking idiot. As Stefan has said in the past, the time it's taken for a case of this nature is perfectly normal, as are any objections/issues we may have raised along the way. And while it stands to reason that we'd want this put to bed as soon as possible, because it's such an involved case it was always going to take as long as it has and it would be utterly incompetent of us to seek a quicker resolution by cutting corners.

Ya need to up the bants game! We might get relegated but at least we’ll still have a derby to look forward to the way they’re going. Our relegation would be temporary but it’s a longer way back when you have to negotiate Europe’s largest waterfall. Would the parachute payment cover their increasing bills from Rentokil Initial for the rat infestation?
My line has been that they are really hoping City get a massive points deduction as that might save the rags from going down themselves
