I won't say "no chance", as that has a ring of unequivocal-ness (made up word!) about it. All I'll say is that I'd be surprised and yes, disappointed, if he played again before next August. We now have cover for him; let him fully recover and recuperate, ready for next season. Remember; he said on more than one occasion before the injury that players (not just him) are expected to play too many games. This is the chance (not in the way we hoped, obviously) to get him rested.
My attitude is he’ll return when he’s ready - no way in hell would be rushing him back. Be that April or September, he’s going to play when he’s ready.

His recovery is obviously going very well from what we’ve been hearing and his inclusion in the CL squad. I’m not going to have a meltdown if I see him training in April

Not a chance in hell. You don't return quickly from an ACL there's always a minimum recovery time to it. Next month will be what, 6 months on? I suppose he can technically be back in and around the cfa on a daily basis doing gym work etc if thats what is meant the same way a normal non-athlete would be doing physio around that period but back with a view to playing, absolutely not.

Not even as if there's anything to try and salvage this season anyway. Should take every opportunity to fully rest up get completely fit and ready to go next season.
To be fair - seeing lots of players in Serie A return after 6 months

Think Van Dick was 9 month to return in preseason and he's been a success story
Dippers i know said it took him at least a season before he was back to top form & they were questioning during that season whether he'd actually get back to his best.

Patience will be needed with Rodri but i think being next to Nico will help, as he won't be required to do it all.

God, i hate this thread! I don't want to see him until next season :(

He can get healthy and train with the boys. Play a few minutes with the youth teams etc.

But i want his recovery slow-walked!!!!

As a matter of fact, slow walk this thread :(

There’s going to be the inevitable hysteria when we see him training that the club are rushing him back

Yeah, this is annoying. As if Rodri, Pep and the medical staff are foolish. If Rodri returns before the end of the season it's because he's fit to play.

Rodri in an EDS game would generate record breaking numbers on City plus

Pep admitted he rushed Rodri back for Inter & Arsenal and this season Stones, Aké & Dias have all been rushed back from injury, only to be reinjured. Hopefully this time is different (I'd rather he just writes off this season) but there's no point pretending we haven't rushed players back.

Rodri had his first starts in the 2nd half of September, 2 months after the Euros. He was given more time to recover than the other players, and rightly so. Bad injuries can happen even in training, see Bobb.

We rushed Stones, Ake and Dias back due to not having fit defenders. Hard to say about Stones and Ake, as they are injury prone. Even if we delay their inclusion, they might get injured again.

Anyway, we won't be risking the health of our most important player. This rushing Rodri back worry is largely groundless (I hope so).

The point was that they were rushed back when not ready - injuries can occur whenever, but the likelihood of reinjury increases when returning before fully fit. I agree that I don't think they'll do it with Rodri this season and Pep has said as much in the past week.

Having him in the CL squad is a smart move, it also sends a message that we're expecting to get to the later rounds. I don't think he'll be playing any time soon cos I don't think Pep will play him unless he's ready. Rodri will know when he's feeling 100% and even if he says he is 100% I think Pep will err on the side of caution.

I will trust the club doctors on this, but it would be a big risk to rush Rodri back and I don't expect him to play anytime soon.

KDB was also rushed at the start of the 23/24 season then got injured in the first EPL game of the season.
