City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

I read recently that only 3 PL clubs are majority British owned. Since the takeover of Everton in December, half the clubs in the PL are now majority owned by Americans. In terms of voting for rule changes, it should raise obvious concerns: 'Lets bring in draft picks and no relegations. All in agreement, gimme a hell yeah!'

If half of PL clubs were owned by billionaires from the Persian Gulf, I'm pretty sure our press would not think 'Tyranny of the majority' was an absurd point to make at all. That will never happen because we know the press would go bonkers and send people into a blind panic about it, before it got to that. However, if rival fans were to actually humour the scenario, it might actually click, finally.

Besides that, not everyone did vote in favour. Even if only 1 club voted against, if the rules are unlawful, then they need to be changed. No point trotting out 'all clubs voted on the rules, so just accept it'. That's nonsense.

But hardly surprising as a dipper supporter is quoted as putting that solution forward.

Listen to this bullshit from Sly Sports News.

City got defeated by the PL.

The standard of the media in this country is perfectly encapsulated in everything which Sky stands for in their low level intelligence propaganda in favour of the rags and dippers teams which infest the PL and have the largest following...................of morons and imbeciles.

A Liverpool fan has just posted this on a Golf Forum I’m on .

All the clubs voted on these rules

Why can’t they respect the wishes of all the clubs.
If the majority of members at a golf club voted for a ban on women or none white members from playing do they think it’d be lawful?

Why can’t they just respect the wishes of the members?

Hard to
Ruling expected next week ahead of PL strategy meeting on Wednesday and PL Shareholders meeting on Thursday according to Footbiz newsletter.

"The Premier League are expecting a ruling at the the start of next week, which it will pass on to the clubs before a so-called strategy day on Wednesday. The arbitration panel is chaired by Sir Nigel Teare, a former head of the High Court’s Commercial Court, and also comprises Lord John Dyson KC, a former Master of the Rolls, and Christopher Vajda KC, who was the UK's judge at the European Court of Justice from 2012 until 2020".
Hard to imagine that the meetings aren’t significantly connected.

The PL has little or no control over the former but they unquestionably do over the latter. It they know when the decision is coming, then they may as well bite the bullet quickly.

This case for me has always been far more important than the 115, which will probably last for years yet, It quite obviously targets owners, and more importantly Middle East owners, over consortium's who it is nearly impossible to apply the same controls

I can’t help but think the arbitration panel have overseen a shitshow….

First after listening to evidence of animosity between City & the premier league they give a view but rather provide a legally binding decision they say “sort it out together.” Then when only a fool thought that would happen, they say they’ll need to start again……

Worlds gone mad
