City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

Do you think Masters just sits there and wonders why the fuck he got into bed with the red tops? New legal action plus January signings makes me think out owners are very confident about the charges.

I think he thinks that he stays employed until all these cases end, so keep them coming.

I read recently that only 3 PL clubs are majority British owned. Since the takeover of Everton in December, half the clubs in the PL are now majority owned by Americans. In terms of voting for rule changes, it should raise obvious concerns: 'Lets bring in draft picks and no relegations. All in agreement, gimme a hell yeah!'

If half of PL clubs were owned by billionaires from the Persian Gulf, I'm pretty sure our press would not think 'Tyranny of the majority' was an absurd point to make at all. That will never happen because we know the press would go bonkers and send people into a blind panic about it, before it got to that. However, if rival fans were to actually humour the scenario, it might actually click, finally.

Besides that, not everyone did vote in favour. Even if only 1 club voted against, if the rules are unlawful, then they need to be changed. No point trotting out 'all clubs voted on the rules, so just accept it'. That's nonsense.
Here you are, maybe a shade over 3.

This case for me has always been far more important than the 115, which will probably last for years yet, It quite obviously targets owners, and more importantly Middle East owners, over consortium's who it is nearly impossible to apply the same controls
Are you on crack?

With the greatest respect, the latter is far, far more important for us as a club.
is it? what is the most that they can do, even if, and i doubt that they can, find us guilty on any of the important charges. relegation is out of the question, points deduction would cause chaos, as every club would declare they lost out due to PL inactivity, a big fine? The PL can not impose any of these before an appeal, which again they are likely to lose, certainly they will when they have to prove their accusations.
But on the City suing, it rock the very bed rock of sport in Britain, 23 charges unproven? how close are City to proving that the PL is racist and has a Cartel running amok with it`s blessing, how did cricket do with it`s racism case.
Just my view of course.

You’ve confused importance with likelihood of the worst possible outcome.

If they were to find us guilty on any of the important charges, then a substantial points deduction is virtually inevitable.
