Not sure what the whingeing is about. Got to balance winning this game with being ready for Real. Dias needs minutes and Khusanov will come in for him at some point. Equally Speedy, Reis and Marmoush benefit from minutes on the pitch with the team.

Happy with that personally. If we can rest Akanji for the full game it would be beneficial. Still think we will want him at RB if possible midweek.

Realistically this is our only chance of silverware. Playing Dias greatly increases our chances of keeping balls out of our net, a big problem lately, giving us a good chance of progressing. The main objective against Madrid is most likely to prevent another embarrassing scoreline, this competition is our main priority now along with somehow crawling into the Premier European competition next season. The tide is out lads, we have to make the best of a bad situation. This will be 4-1 or 4-2 in our favour.

Think this line up is a good balance of the new lads and experience. Not sure why people are fretting about Ruben starting, would we prefer him against RM with no minutes in him?
No Gvardiol or Haaland on the bench seems unusual. Hope just some proper rest rather than knocks, god knows they’ve earned it.
