I think he was fine today and didn't shirk any responsibilities. He naturaly looks baby faced but I think there's more in his character than what meets the eye. I can see some inner steel

Totally agree, my point is more than it's a very high pressure situation and he's shown a couple of times that he can have a rush of blood. He will grow out of that. He's 19, gone from a decent Ligue 1 side to suddenly playing in one of the top rivalries in Europe in recent years for the world's best manager, I think he'd have a wobble. I like him and I don't doubt he'll mature I just think Vinicius will draw two yellows out of him at this very early stage of his City career.

Yeah I know where you're coming from. We're going to have to be patient and he's bound to have a few mishaps in his first dozen games or so. It might be just me but he reminds me of Gvardiol he looks like he's going to burst into tears now and again when the mistakes happen but he has tons of resolve and will be better for the learning curve

Wouldn't write us off, I'm not sure Madrid are a great side, but we'll need to win our home game.

They play Atletico tonight, so hopefully they kick the shit out of them.

Interesting one this. Does Kev play? What about marmoush? Where do we fit them?

Ederson
Akanji stones dias gvardiol
Bernardo Gonzalez kovacic
Foden haaland savinho

I’d go this. Maybe Kev for kovacic.
We need to come away with at least a draw, so I wouldn't have Savinho in the side. I'd have a player who is more defensively minded

Real has huge problems at the back ,but up front and middle of the park they are still very good side.

If we had to drop one of the forwards, I'd rather drop Foden than Savinho. Can't really think of who would come in place of either of them though unless Marmoush is good to play again.

Ederson
stones Kushanov dias gvardiol
Nico or kova
Bernardo Foden DeBruyne, Marmoush
haaland

We need to be out and on them from the start, take momentun into the stands as if we start slowly or poorly the ground will become a library full of tension

Eddie

Akanji
Stones
Dias
Gvardiol

Nico
Kovacic
Kev

Foden
Savio
Haaland

Midfield is a bit weak, as KDB is more of a forward than a midfielder these days.

Imo, we'll play with 3 proper midfielders. If Nico is fit and Pep trusts him to make a difference, then Kova, Nico and Bernie are the likely starters in midfield.

Two from Marmoush, Foden, Savinho and KDB will start in attack.

But IF Nico G isn't ready, then Pep might choose a more attacking formation like the one vs Arsenal. It might work better at home than it did at Arsenal.

I'm really encouraged by Khus, and am happy to delete from memory his first 4 minutes in a City shirt.

**Cricket reference warning **
Graham Gooch started with a pair (0 in both innings) for England. Became our leading test runs scorer.

Let's face it - we know that Akanji/Nunes/Gavrdiol will get skinned. Any argument against this is surely just bravado.

Khus would at least be an unknown quantity - plus what would it do for his confidence? There's also the chance that Vinicius' fragile ego won't like being dumped on his arse by somebody younger than him. He might even cry again :-)

I think Khus will prove to be the pick of the January window.

Megapologies about the cricket ref :-l

I like that team.
I'm really hoping that defence can all be fit to play, Gonzalez too.
But i'd really go for it from the off and have Savinho playing on the left, he'll scare the shit out of them!

I think Kev will miss out, but it's good to have him ready if we need him, like today!
We have other options on the bench now too so i think we'll win this.

3-1 to us!
