Remember when this fella quit on the basis of our complicity and was in the news cycle for about 2 days?

The UK’s complicity in war crimes cannot continue. We must demand transparency and accountability in our arms export policies. Ministers must be held to the same legal and ethical standards that they claim to uphold. Civil servants must be empowered to provide impartial advice without fear of political interference, and whistleblowers must be protected, not punished, for speaking the truth.

The situation in Gaza could not be more acute. The UK’s closest ally now proposes the mass expulsion of 2.1 million people from Gaza and the demolition of one of the most densely populated civilian areas on Earth – this is ethnic cleansing. I call on my former colleagues – those who still believe in the values of integrity and justice – to refuse to be complicit. Do not rubber-stamp reports that whitewash crimes against humanity. This is not self-defence – it is collective punishment. It is genocide. The time for silence is over. Do not allow ministers to trade human lives for political expediency. The time for accountability is now.

How is Trump justifying Gaza as "America First"?
Just more US meddling in the east. Then wants other NATO members to up their defence budgets to police the mess it will leave. The US is the route cause of its own problems. Any nation supporting this action wants fuckintg off.

If the UK government in anyway supports these actions, then shame on us and heads should roll.
HAMAS has a lot to answer for. But the US/Trump is pouring fuel on the fire.
You would think the Jews, of all people would understand how it feels to be treated this way.

The media seem highly tuned to the physical condition of the returned hostages, not so much to the ordinary folk of gaza that are starved and bombed on a daily basis...

If you actually believe that anything like his plan will happen I have a bridge to sell you, not a cat in hells chance, it's a fantasy solution and in many ways it's a typical American myopic solution they don't have many emotional ties to their land therefore they believe that no one else does

He was kite flying, but one could have flown a better kite, he has a succession of Arab leaders visiting soon he will moot a different plan after that

Just talk of his actions are dangerous enough. The capitol riots show the power of words alone.
It empowers other lunatics to think threats and anarchy are ok.

He is creating chaos. While people are dealing with each bombshell, he will be eroding decades of peoples rights including law and order.
The end game will always be to enrich himself and his buddies businesses.
He doesn't even need to be smart. Just smarter than his dumb supporters.

History will judge him. But it will also judge the people who voted for him.

I see that, but what he is proposing would require serious ethnic cleansing, which according to him he is not going to get american troops to do, I doubt the Israelis even with their batshit crazy government would even attempt it, it's got the world scratching it's collective head

It has been said that Trump agrees with the last person he spoke with, so when he talks to Arab leaders he will change again

What can we do about Trump ? for me it’s a land grab on behalf of Israel listening to Trump on BBC he openly admits the Palestinians won’t be allowed back because Jordan and Egypt will do a deal and they will be happy in their new home.
 
Just had a chat with an Israeli friend who (among many) believes their is a rabbit to pull out of the hat, in that the real proposal is a land swap for the whole of the West Bank for Gaza, that’s why he’s selling the idea so hard, of course the messianic right will need a bit of time to process this as will the Palestinians, but the idea may be a Saudi one, considering his family is closely entwined with them, would it fly? Could do if it’s a take it or leave it especially for Israelis if he said take the deal or we drop support, it’s so batshit crazy that there has to be something else behind it transferring the population to another Arab country is a red line in the sand the messianic right have not twigged on yet but something is afoot

It’s simple in Trump’s mind, just another prime real estate deal. Clear the area, build really expensive condo’s that none of the Palestinians can afford, and Bob’s your uncle.

It's unclear from what you wrote - who would get which bit of land in this swap, in the opinion of your friend?

A land swap where Israel gives up occupied land in order to annex a different bit of land with a beautiful coastline complete with untapped gas fields. Not sure even Abbas would stoop that low. Not that Palestinians appear to have a voice in this new era of 'solutions'.

I doubt any Israeli government would agree to it either. In order to transfer the population of Gaza to the West Bank they would have to clear out 700k settlers first. What would that look like? Remember when a much smaller number had to be dragged kicking and screaming out of Gaza?
 
The only thing Hamas have to negotiate with is the hostages, that’s why they have postponed the deal.
Something as abhorrent as a forced exit from Gaza their land, may mean they will fight to the death.
