The „ not been here long enough“ only seems to be a city thing. Every club starts their newest players even Barcelona and Ajax who have a certain system for centuries.

Exactly, back three of Ake, Dias and Stones advanced into midfield; Fullbacks are fine, Bernardo buzzing about in the middle with De Bruyne advanced, wingers fine, Haaland fine.

Bit concerned that Bernard, Kev and Grealish will just constantly rotate and get in each others space, congesting it all.

Still think we're getting smashed tonight, hope I'm wrong.

what has Grealish done to deserve to start the game? I would have started with Marmoush for Grealish and Kovacic for KDB.

Agree. Who knows it if will be enough considering our form is far from the best but at least this lineup is giving me little hope we could stop them from creating loads. Our "usual" lineup consistently let attacks far worse than Real Madrids create chance after chance with little effort, hopefully we can at least look a bit more defensively solid tonight even if the oppositions attack is as good as it gets.
 
Expecting it to be a fairly conventional 4-3-3, with Stones as the holding midfielder. Decent attacking options on the bench with Foden, Marmoush and Doku.
