Real Madrid post match thread

The truth is we all wanted us to win and hang on BUT this team is mentally gone WHAT ON EARTH DID EDERSON SEE

Forget the 3rd, That 2nd goal killed us and Pep wanted to leave right there and then, Ederson mistake should be his last one for City or should I say never play again, He let EVERBODY down with a moment of madness

This season is a rite of passage for younger fans and a reminder for us older ones to not take things for granted.

To summarize: Is Ederson on drugs?
I'm starting to wonder if he is on the take.

His 'mistakes' are carbon copies of the same ones he did at the swamp a few years ago.

A brutal and totally unnecessary way to lose a match. Pep leaving on Kev and Bernie when they were knackered, then throwing on Gundo is shooting yourself in the foot.

Unlucky with the two injuries which sums up our season.

Gutted as we played for a good spell with our old panache and looked really comfortable. Would be easier to swallow if they’d done something brilliant for their goals but it was just giveaways from us.

This will signal a changing of the guard, it’s tough to compete with the physicality and pace of their front 3.

Would have loved to have seen Khusanov come on, vini wouldn’t have fancied it.

Plenty of positives too such as Savinho, Stones, Gvardiol and Haaland who were excellent.

Another last 10 mins horror show. We seemed determined to make mistake after mistake. Ederson was particularly bad but Stones also kept trying to give it away. Stupid mistakes keep costing us and all our hard work gets undone.

Haaland took both his goals well and we defended reasonably well until Akanji had to go off. Typical luck this season. We've been struggling to get a fit and settled defence and when we finally have them all fit, then who had managed to stay fit the most gets injured. It was a shame Grealish got injured as he was playing well until point.

I thought KDB was really poor today. We know he doesn't have the legs anymore but his passing and crossing were woeful.

We worked hard and perhaps deserved a bit better but really if we're going to make those kind of mistakes, it's going to be difficult to beat any decent team.

Still, we know what we need to do. We simply need to go there and get a win. As unlikely as it seems, it's not beyond the realms of possibility.
Bang on but it’s down to being physically shot. Stones was dead on his feet as were most of them at the end..time and time again.

Lewis is not, and never will be, a top level player.
Kev has maximum 45 minutes in him
Ederson is a goalkeeper shaped mistake
Gundo is not gonna help close out games anymore

That result exposed everything that Pep is blind to these days.
Well he did think the squad was good enough and worryingly hes still blind to it based on his selections.

Keystone cop FC strikes again, the most generous team in the land and the whole world, when you need a goal they will gladly give it to you.

Think we have a huge problem with Pep.
He has not adapted to our situation and its killing us. Every team seems to have 20 odd shots v us due to his and the clubs failings.
We have 2 clowns battling for the keepers position, bow many times has Ederson cost us in the CL ( always grateful v Inter) no full backs and defenders who struggle to play 45 minutes. God knows what our medical staff with state of the art facilities are doing.
We spend a lot of money on 2 unproven defenders, 1 of which was on the bench tonight.
We have wingers who cannot score and a midfield with no pace, no energy, no creativity and no defensive abilities.
We played a Madrid team missing their back 4 and we went slow with our expensive pacy new player left on the bench.
3-2 was flattering for us tonight, could have been a real thumping on another night.
180 million spent in Jan and he is still bringing on a championship level Lewis and past it Mr Whippy.
No chance of going through, most of us expected that but i have never seen a team fuck up to conceed goals as much of us.
I dont think he can fix it, his style is now becoming outdated where teams are all about press, pace, energy and we just do not have it yet he is setting up every game as if we have it

Awful just awful, looked like we were going to get a good result against these mongrels, but just threw it away.........
You mean capitulated? For the 10th time or so this season? It’s inexcusable now.

Something is clearly wrong mentally with this side, and we’re relying on players who are clearly just not good enough at this level.

Results lay at peps door though ultimately. Something has to give for this to get better.

Think we played good in the first halv, little shacky at the beginning but we took over the game after the first goal, then the injuries came and then the errors, its really annoying both all the mistakes we give and the injuries we gott,
no changes did make us better and we can't afford making these easy mistakes

Very true. We rode our luck massively throughout the game and on another night could easily of lost that by 3/4 goals. First time we’ve played Madrid in the last 6/7 years where we looked like a far inferior side trying to grab a result.
Sad how far we have fallen in two years, it’s gone very stale, I think we need a managerial refresh

Thought we’d get leathered so at 3-2 you never know.
All we need now is stop fucking up for 90 minutes.
As if.
I’m not to disappointed cos I’ve seen it too many times.
Thought we did well going forward and created some good chances.
Defensively I knew we’d struggle against pace and we did.
Made much worse by Akanji going off as Rico was nowhere.
Hopefully get Nico in for the away leg and just go for it.
Full out attack mode and if we die on our sword so be it.
