I was just going to post that. It’s so rare for us to contest the ball anywhere on the pitch and come away with it. Bernie used to be so good at knicking it and turning over play. 9 times out of ten now we contest it but the opposition come away with it.

I'm trying to see it from Peps view. I struggle.
Rico change made zero sense. He can't impose himself in defense, he can't create in midfield, he can't shield the back line.
There is a team somewhere that is crying out for his attributes, but it is not our team.
Kev should only come on late in games to see it out. He can pick a pass still, he just hasn't got the engine the young uns have.

Nico- you can only think he wasn't 100% after weekend. That said, he would have been a better option than Gundogan or Kovacic.

I wouldn't class them as panic buys- we have been screaming our for a DM to cover Rodri.

As for money wasted, again it's far too early to say given one arrived last week and was injured on debut.

I’d have probably settled for that a few days ago but seeing the ‘old’ team back together gave me hope! That’s part of the problem though, a few are that bit older.

That and throwing a fucking game away in the last ten mins yet again with individual mistakes costing us.

But we’re still in with a shout at 2-3.

Average performances from both sides really.
It just reinforces both teams CL results this year.

Madrid created more better chances and should
really been in control of the game. However, we
rode some luck and got ahead with a good goal.

They equalised and we nudged ahead with a pen. The last ten minutes, well, we have seen
that before this season. Names maybe change
in games but same poor decision choices or
errors has thrown away a good result.

Fans will maybe blame any one individual for the goals but each one has at least x2 players making poor choices before ball is in the net and
that's before you look at management team too.

As night follows day we manage to further drain our confidence and any momentum into next game.

Hopefully, Jan signings can get some minutes
before 2nd leg and we can have some more
options to start.
