As much criticism as Lewis got (And I gave him some too), Kova was definitely worse and more at fault for the loss tbh.

Its a shame Nico O Reilly isnt trusted.

Also, I dont know if this is true, but it seems nearly everh game Pep subs a new CDM in (Kova or Gundo), the sub CDM almost always drops a shocker, usually the starting CDM plays way better.

Has anybody else noticed this?

I was saying this about Kovacic on the coach back, it was a half-hit flick pass that Vinicius was always favourite to reach before Lewis. Even then it wouldn't have been a goal if we'd had a bit of pace in our back line to track Bellingham and clear the chip over Ederson that was going wide.

He did one nice tackle tracking back on the wing but other than that, it was the same level of play. Slow to react for the second, mindless with that flick (fuck knows what he's thinking) and had a couple of runs forward to their box...which isn't what we want or need from a 6. For the latter, Pep has to be encouraging it despite the risk as it happens every game despite leaving us exposed.

Well you can see it in his eyes whilst we have all seen what kovacic has done in that role and it's be anywhere and everywhere but the position he's meant to be.

The problem is that he is not a true Defensive Mid and this shows when he goes on one of his runs but then loses the ball and he is left stranded upfield with the back four then out numbered.

He lacks the discipline to play in the most crucial role in Peps team.

He is by no means a poor player and is probably suited to play in an 8 role.

I cannot understand stand why last night Pep didn’t bring on the new centre half for Ake and left Stones in midfield or bring Gonzales on (he was fit enough to be on the bench) and moved Stones back.

Peps loyalty to some of the old guard is costing us either way.

Still better to make mistakes with kids in pitch and lose than play experienced folks and lose

If end result is same might as well give experiment to kids that is how they learn

Okay is all he’s been and generally against weaker teams. Theres a reason he’s mainly warmed benches and why Chelsea offloaded him. He offers very little and he impacts badly on our general control of midfield.

Inter, Madrid & Chelsea all got rid. He's so one sided it hurts, he constantly takes the ball to his left or turns in circles with the ball whilst looking jittery. Always looks like he's going to lose possession.

Was brought in to replace Gundogan & we've now ended up with both of them being crap.
