Real Madrid post match thread

Best attack in the world???

There are 7 teams in Europe that have scored more goals than Madrid.

With our defence, attacks don't need to be that good sadly.
Exactly, I get that Mbappe, Vini and Rodrygo are huge names but they have struggled to click this season. I have seen average La Liga teams outplay Madrid at the Bernabeu, even before their current injury crises. Also, the fact that Madrid are in the playoffs tells you they have not been special. Barca have made them look like a Championship side this season.

Genuine question. At what point do we start having uncomfortable conversations around Pep? Is he still untouchable? I still fully back him at the moment, he’s singlehandedly turned this club into a European giant and has made us the single most dominating force in the last decade of english football.

But it’s been clear ever since we won the treble his stubbornness is really, really starting to cost us. I think because we won the league again last season a lot of people forget that last season we really weren’t very good- we consistently struggled to win against any decent teams and we didn’t look like the consistently dominant team of years past.

Yesterday’s loss is fully down to Pep, and I don’t mean just the subs. So many of our problems wouldn’t exist if he hadn’t insisted on making almost no new signings the past 2 summers. He knew about our overreliance on Rodri and did nothing to fix it except sign a 33-year old gundogan who’s little more than a zombie at this point. Kyle Walker was awful for multiple seasons, consistently lost us games yet Pep had his contract renewed and didn’t sign any fullbacks, leaving us with extremely weak options there. Letting Alvarez leave was fatal. He bailed us out so so many times during these shit runs of form before. It took the most embarrassing, shockingly bad run of games for Pep to even come around and finally sign new players but by then it was way too late, the season was ruined.

First it was the Rodri problem and the aging midfield that was supposedly at fault. So he signed a quarter billion in new players. What’s the excuse now? If this were any other manager in the world he’d be sacked right now. Sir Alex Ferguson would’ve been sacked for this. Arsene Wenger would’ve been sacked for this. Ancelloti would be sacked for this. Again, I still back him at least until the end of the season but we can’t just keep covering our ears and pretending there isn’t a conversation here to be had.

Taking a 2.1 lead to the Bernabeau, we had a slight chance. Now the only chance we have is NO CHANCE.

It will be another mauling. Real didn't even need to play that well last night. Just relied on their high and wide wingers and we couldn't cope.

In the end we were lucky to come away with a 3.2 loss!

Could be another humbling on the cards for us.

This season can't end quick enough!!

Im afraid we're going to be in for another arsenal scoreline here could be worse.

Do you think Pep lays into the players in the dressing room because he always seems so calm in his post match interviews, never ever critical of the team
I don't think he does it anymore which is part of the problem. I remember being mad after the Spurs game when he refused to say the performance was unacceptable. We had just lost 4-0 to Spurs at home and he was talking about how the players have won a lot. That was when I knew this season was fucked

I’ll try to simplify things from a personal view. If anyone had said to me 5 seasons ago , that we would do a treble (a true treble , being champions) and that after that , through hunger and desire , we would go onto four in a row , followed by a season of mediocrity, I’d have snatched there hands off.
These players , and manager , have given there all to break all records.
They’re mentally shattered, but still show glimpses of their best. They have nothing left to give - and some on here should be fucking ashamed just because we don’t do five in a row.
Even Pep now - the world’s BEST manager is getting pelters.
Go and fucking support someone else.
I’m no happy clapper by the way.
They’ve given there all , nothing left to give- be fucking thankful when you look back.
Because when Pep leaves , some on here are really going to shit their pants.

You can say that again.

I used to find Real Madrid fans waving their snotrags in the air after a few bad results utterly pathetic. Please don't let us become that.
Few bad results? Are you being real? We finished 22nd on the UCL table behind clubs like Lille, PSV and fucking Brest. We have conceded more goals than United in the league. We lost 4-0 at home to one of the worst Spurs teams in recent history, lost at home to one of the worst United teams, got battered by Arsenal. At what point are we allowed to complain?

Bluemoon should take a day off beating up some players and the manager today, as the media take their usual swings. And, truth be told, the nature of the implosion…poor defending, keeper issues, no fight or ability to end a game…has only served to make them feel justified in their previous shithousery towards the club in their columns.

Let’s take a day off, eh?

Our worst season for what , 12 seasons , after a treble , and four in a row ?
You can quote your stats all day long you sad twat , go and buy a new box of Lego ffs.

As a general rule of thumb based on the docs we've seen when he's bollocking them in public he's putting an arm round their shoulder in training and when he's telling the press how proud he is he's bollocking them behind closed doors.
