What? That the Ukrainian 2014 borders may not be recovered? What about pre 2022? You never know that might be where the negotiations will start? I'm sure compromises on both sides will be required around the 2014 position.

Was Hegseth talking about 2014 or 2022? I think that was probably a reasonable stance to open discussion, do you?

I think people have been suckered into believing the Trump is the ultimate deal maker based off 'The Art of the Deal' and the 'Apprentice USA', when in fact, both Tony Schwartz (ghostwriter of the AotD) and Mark Burnett (the creator of The Apprentice) are both on the record as saying they regret falsely elevating Trump's business acumen.

What the fuck are you talking about with negotiations? Why should there be any negotiations? Russia illegally invaded a sovereign nation, killing thousands of innocent civilians in the process. Why should they cede any territory that was once theirs before a murderous tyrant invaded?

Trump is negotiating direct with Russia without Ukraine. Exactly what Russia wants.

Trump is actively supporting Russian objectives.

Nonsense. Russia is shot militarily without the support of Trump to keep them going. They are running out of money. Have a look at Russias economic performance.

I think you should open your eyes.

Zelenskyy knows that the only way to get Trump onside is to flatter him. That is not contradictory to his comments that a deal is not possible if he is cut out of discussions which he has said has happened so far.

Just my opinion but it seems clear to me that at some point in the next few days Trump will attempt to blackmail Zelenskyy to accept whatever terms he’s agreed with Putin.

If your solicitor opened divorce negotiations with your wife by offering her the marital home plus the whole of your pension before discussing anything else, while she was slashing the tyres of your car, I doubt you'd think it was a "good thing".
