Middle East Conflict | Netanyahu orders strikes on Gaza (p1161)

If the genocide is completed we'll be lucky to avoid serious unrest.
Maybe that's part of Satanyahoo's agenda - to provoke violent disorder in European nations that have large Muslim populations. The result being civil war , pogroms and a murderous free for all. The 'counter Jihad' movement has worked tirelessly for years trying to persuade people to murderously hate Islam. I have no doubt at all that they want pogroms against the Muslim population. And also murderous violence against the left.
I believe that many in the Conservative Party also want this regardless of what they say.

I could of course be wrong and a little too pessimistic about human nature.
There’s a serious danger of The Balkans kicking off too, if they proceed on the current path.

This is a daft take. [EDIT - the following comments were based on what was said at PMQ. I now realise it wasn't clear.] Just to clarify. A tribunal ruled that a family from Gaza were entitled to settle in the UK under the Ukrainian Settlement scheme.

The judge made a comment about the Israeli conduct in Gaza to justify the decision.

Badenoch did try to make an issue of the judge's comment on the situation in Gaza.

No. The application was made under the Ukrainian scheme because there was no other avenue to get a hearing. Unsurprisingly they didn't qualify on that basis.

  • 4. Following the attacks of 7 October 2023 and during the ensuing conflict, the appellants' home was destroyed by an airstrike and they were displaced. On 25 January 2024, the appellants submitted the collective application for entry clearance (said to constitute the claim), accompanied by representations. The applications were made using the Ukraine Family Scheme form, although the representations acknowledged that they could not qualify under this route, or any other provisions of the Immigration Rules ("the Rules"), but had chosen this form in accordance with the respondent's policy with regard to applications for entry clearance outside the Rules. Detailed submissions were made in relation to the appellants' particular circumstances, together with a request for predetermination of the claim, with the enrolment of biometrics to take place thereafter.

  • 5. Following a good deal of correspondence between the parties to which we need not refer now, the respondent refused the claim in a decision dated 30 May 2024. The respondent concluded (unsurprisingly) that the requirements of the Ukraine Family Scheme were not met. Further, the respondent was not satisfied that there were compelling, compassionate circumstances justifying granting leave outside of the Rules. The decision noted the absence of any resettlement route for Palestinians and ultimately concluded that refusal of the application was not disproportionate. The decision purported to deny a right of appeal to the appellants on the basis that there had been no human rights claim.

I'm not entirely sure which take you're saying is daft, but in my opinion what 'Flying Rodent' says is right: Starmer (and Badenoch too) are saying that whereas it's right to have a scheme to protect vulnerable people in one war zone (Ukraine), it's wrong to similarly protect vulnerable people in another, much worse, war zone (Palestine.) They could not be more explicit: Ukrainian lives matter more to them than Palestinians. The fact that this is sadly the consensus point of view for pretty much all European governments, not just politicians in the UK, doesn't make it any less disgusting.

I remember that guy Peter Learner during the 2015 conflict selling us the latest massacre with his clearly English accent

He's been around for decades. This documentary was aired in 1998. He makes an appearance at 23 minutes, where he is harassing a group Bedouin in the West Bank.

Israel specifically seeks out dual nationals of the anglosphere to be their apologists. So it makes them seem like they are more like us cultural Europeans than their neighbours.

Perhaps the ADL can polygraph us all as part of their witch hunt
But what happens when they find that their conservative allies with their mutterings about Soros and globalists don't really like them?
As with Musk and his Nazi salutes it'll just be ignored

I've skim read the full judgment. Complicated....

You're right. Nowt really to do with the Ukrainian Scheme, so I'm not sure what "loophole" Starmer thinks can be closed. It might seem to stretch the "family life" argument (one man is now a British citizen and the claim was by his brother and family in Gaza) - but if the family were killed in Gaza that would be the end of family life. The judge explicitly rejected the argument that it would open "floodgates" for anyone in peril in conflict zones with a relative in the UK.

The judge in the earlier case said the danger was "as a consequence of the Israeli government's indiscriminate attempts to eliminate Hamas" (though the father in the family had worked for the Palestinian Authority so might himself be at risk from Hamas). The judge accepted the evidence that "the family were living under a summer tent which had been punctured by what appeared to be heavy machine-gun ammunition fired by Israeli forces. Torrential rain had resulted in the tent being flooded".

I confidently now expect posts from people who haven't read the judgment. I don't think Starmer can win this - if he hadn't read it, he wasn't in a position to say a loophole should be closed, and if he had read it I don't know how he could close a loophole based on various ECHR precedents. He must know that "hard cases make bad law". And selling the weapons to Israel that enable the IDF to machine gun tents doesn't help.

BREAKING: HOUTHIS THREATEN THE US Abdul-Malik al-Houthi: "If the Americans succeed in implementing their Gaza plan, we will intervene with military force to prevent it and act within our jihadist duty. We will not stand by“

We should not help the U.S. in any way to carry out their plan otherwise we open ourselves up to Houthis terrorist attack.

The U.S could end the Houthis before the end of today if they wanted

Houthis are not like Hamas though

And if the US gets involved, that opens up the new modern Taliban who might be egging for a go after them withstanding 20 years of US offensive that resulted in changing the outdated traditional Taliban to, well, the new tech and more weaponised Taliban.

I thought they were all very very black. Doh.

Yeah..... not that I condone or support this in anyway one bit, but it does ring back memories about what happened on Oct' 7th '23 doesn't it?

Not saying two wrongs make a right but it was/is an inevitability.

Your first time the IDF throwing stun grenades on Palestinians for no reason but October 7th?

Watch hundreds of videos of IDF throwing stun grenades, rubber bullets, real bullets, hitting Palestinians with rifle butts, kicking with their heavy boots, smashing and stomping heads of Palestinians including elderly women. All in every year of Ramadhan at Al-Aqsa mosque. 2022. 2021. 2020. 2019. 2018. 2017. The list of years go on.

Over the years, hundreds injured, arrested, killed. Just because the Palestinians were in their mosque congregating their prayers. Before 7th October 2023. Just because the IDF and settlers have extreme hatred towards Palestinians throughout the month of Ramadhan in Al-Aqsa mosque.

It’s no surprise that Hamas named the 7th October atrocious attack as the ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’.

Why did Hamas call the 7th October atrocity as ‘Al-Aqsa flood’?

Here are just a sliver of what had been occurring in Al-Aqsa for the past few decades.

Just the 5 above. Watch them. There are literally hundreds since the advent of mobile cameras. Pre-mobile cameras, documented videos were scarce and not everyone had a hi-8 camcorder.
