Jesus this thread is depressing when did we turn into Bradford City? When did Newcastle turn into prime barca? I actually think we win this game comfortably even with heavy rotation. Our forward players should have way to much for their light defence. Also negative howe won't be letting the handbrake off against us he never does.

It's top5 mind. Makes a difference.

Beating Newcastle would be huge. Chelsea and Forest haven't won yet away at Brighton and Fulham resp.
Arsenal will have problems upfront for rest of the season and they still have CL as well.

I would prefer to concentrate on Newcastle, take Madrid realistically as a shot to nothing (2 goal win, there?? Our lads don't believe to win matches 10 mins to go, how could they believe at Bernabeu? Extra 30 mins for a 1-goal win? No way please!!).

And take points off dippers at home is an absolute must duty afterwords.

If we only stop the clownery in defence and manage games we will make top5. Fa cup to Wemberley for some adventure could come on top.

Top 5 helps us, and I think Forest will be dragged back into things as time goes on. Would be lovely to win the 3pts but whilst we've still got a chance of qualifying in the CL I would prioritise it. Win 1-0, as unlikely as it might be and we're a shootout from the last 16. It would be ridiculous to write it off in my opinion. We were well in the game and two errors cost us. Play the perfect game in Madrid and we can beat them, but it's reliant on key players staying fit. If we get knocked out then our priorities are pretty clear.

Goals galore I reckon. I quite enjoy watching Newcastle play this season. Not looking forward to seeing them play against us mind

When we started playing like Bradford City?

Man up the lot of you FFS.

We aren't losing this.

Ederson

Khusanov
Ake
Dias
Gvardiol

Nico G
Nico O (Stones here if he is feeling 100% after Weds)
Foden

Marmoush
Haaland
Savinho

3-0 City.
Great lineup. Shame O’Reilly most likely won’t ever play CM for city so we’ll probably get Bernardo, who desperately needs a rest, Kovacic, who I’d rather never see wear the shirt again, or Gundogan, who is going to get overrun by their midfield.

Ederson
Khusanov
Dias
Stones
Ake
Gvardiol
Nico
De Bruyne (can’t think of anyone else!)
Sav
Marmoush
Haaland

Looking forward to this more than the Madrid game.

Always a good atmosphere against Newcastle. 3pm, Saturday afternoon, going to be a cool cloudy day (ideal footy weather), payday, beers flowing, football between two teams vying for CL places…

Can’t fucking wait!

Good man !!

Tough game coming before the away leg next week. One we can't afford to lose more than have to win in my opinion this. I'd be wrapping up certain players for the away leg - Stones, Ake, Akanji being critical based on how things went with the subs/reshuffle.

We need Nico to start and get through the 90, he gives us a great option for the Bernabeu if he does.

Eddie, Lewis, Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol, Kovacic, Nico, Foden, Marmoush, Haaland, Savinho

Hopefully Doku can get a run out too giving us another option midweek.

Newcastle are hit and miss. When they are up for it they're a challenge for anyone. But they can be off their game fairly often too. I still see Villa as the biggest threat for top 4 personally. Hopefully they show us too much respect being away from home and allow us the time to create chances. On the counter they could tear us to pieces though, but I think Nico will make a huge difference in that midfield.
I agree with this; I can also see Stones and Ake being held back as Akanji is out until some time after the dippers game. I expect the team to be close to that.
