The Labour Government

But if you choose to do it to take a high profile public job then by the simple process of applying common sense then surely you have to expect recriminations. If you don't then common sense is a gift you don't posses which in turn strongly implies you have to ask yourself.... am I fit for office?
What percentage of politicians do you think have “embellished” their CVs?
I’d guess at 95+%.

The universal outrage
Lol.
is probably on the basis of both the fact their case was heard on the basis of the Ukrainian scheme
and immediately rejected because they clearly didn't qualify. So not the crux of the judgement as you repeatedly claimed
AND the fact that the judge thought not living in the same country as your brother deprives you of your human rights.
Tbf that wasn't his only thought. He did take into account the situation they were attempting to flee from.

I agree it's a bit flimsy but that was the narrow point on which the appeal was granted.

Surely as a blue you'd be mindful of the intricate nature of legal processes by now ... or are you literally just a KDB fan boy?
Not sure it's worth arguing over which was the most outrageous abuse of process or law.
I suppose it had to be outrageous to provoke the "universal outrage"
But the fundamental point is that elected representatives should make law
Yet you spent 2 months pissing your pants about political overreach into the legal system regarding the riots.

I mean make your fucking mind up ...
and decide who comes into the country not lily-livered Guardianistas in a wig.
Again top marks for the last line. Keep em coming ;-)

Just heard that on the radio. Apparently from 16 years ago when she was at HBOS where no investigation or disciplinary action was taken over a £140.00 bag that she bought on expenses for her boss of a private company who were promoting ‘buy your colleague something special on expenses’.

I don’t understand why anybody would drag something like this up from 16 years ago, never mind the rest of the crap that’s got certain people frothing.

Strange world.

You’re being a bit selective with what she’s getting pulled up on. The linked in thing and expenses are a bit of something and nothing, but saying “I worked for the BoE for the best part of a decade” at various times before the election are outright lies.

Then there is her claim that she “was an economist at HBOS” which wasn’t true either.

She’s a liar pure and simple. Which is probably why she’s a politician.

Because it's a crime. If you don't think lying on your CV to get a job far beyond your paygrade should be a crime then fair enough. Lots of people probably do it but jobs that have serious consequences if any old chancer gets it like a heart surgeon or, I don't know, the Chancellor Of The Exchequer of the UK, maybe there should be legal and/or political consequences.
Firstly, I didn’t mention anything about a CV.

Secondly, you think exaggerating a CV is a crime?

Thirdly, are you a bot or just here for clicks?

Yep it's a crime (depending on the nature of the lie), it was covered on the previous page.

Because the Beeb is now the propaganda wing of the Tory and Reform Party's - that is why it is being run with - also having boasted he spent 2 solid months "investigating" this which has attracted FLAK because its a big fat nothing in reality and now questions are being asked about salaries and expense claims at the beeb.
Rightly fucking so. Two fucking months to find the square route of fuck all. Just had a bit of a read from ‘other’ investigators who have found that the then HR manager had no knowledge of it and her Boss said she left with an impeccable record.

What the hell are BBC playing at, it makes them look completely out of their depths. No wonder people have stopped funding them.

I despise them. That is all. And FYI 4 decades ago I had strong leanings towards The Socialist Workers Revolutionary Party.

I've changed, times have changed. All politicians imo are self agrandising hypocrites interested only in feathering their own nest.

And when the hell is sentence going to be passed on the not very honourable member for Runcorn? Imo it will be a slapped wrist, Labour are worried about the possibility of a by election given Farage and Reform are on the crest of a wave.

I am angry about the winter fuel allowance and I don't want my taxes going to fund overseas aid and wars that we really shouldn't be involved in. Charity begins at home. Except it doesn't in the UK. Unless you are a politician.

Nb the last lot were a shower too.

Well I said 'it seems like the crux of the judgment' once on the basis of the reporting and then Vic chimed in to berate me for not reading the judgment in full unlike him who 'skim-read' it. But like I said, it's splitting hairs, everyone agrees it's a ridiculous ruling which was the fundamental point I was making about politicised immigration tribunals, you might as well start correcting people's spelling if that's the only point you're gonna make.

Only listened to the HBOS/handbag scandal and was so outraged, I nearly went gammon. Should have seen me in the car, raging I was. My only recourse was scream and shout about the small boats and how all these ILLEGALS were nicking my tax money and sending it off to offshore accounts.

Calmed down a little now and realise that I was close to being pulled over by the police and charged for lying to myself.

Vic, just please answer the question do you not see prices increasing along with everything else I mentioned? Because I reckon people on here would say they are, rapidly.

I don't know about you but in directly answering your question I most certainly do not feel better off. Can you honestly say you do?
If your pay (or pension) is increasing by higher than the inflation rate, your standard of living will be better. That will not apply to everyone, but that's why the idea that a 0.1% drop in per capita GDP means living standards have gone down is daft / stupid / statistically ridiculous.

If you look at the timeline you have the answer - they were expecting (hoping) for zero growth and recession yesterday morning so they dropped 2 negative stories at sort of 10am and at 10.05am they had to publish a story saying there was growth of 0.1%. All the rest is Mason and the Beeb fronting it out but as I say people are asking why did he spend 2 months on this ( a period in which he will have "earned" £27,500 of his BBC salary ) when politically there is so much more going on

But not lying to the Queen?

Or unlawfully helping out a donor?

I was always taught your CV should make you “ blush”
We move around a lot due to work and I’m the one who rewrites the other half’s CV/resume. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a superb operator, but what I add in there, over and above her KSEB, always make her blush.

Always gets the job she wants though, and when she leaves, always gets glowing reports. All ready for me to rewrite the history ;-)

Just two points - the latter first - if it does begin at home why do we not honour that saying and look after our own? Its the biggest myth peddled by the Right. They don't want money going abroad but they sure as hell don't want it going to our needy when it could be lining their pockets.

Secondly I'll address your first point - Soft Power.Fine don't help people but don't moan when others do. 25/26 will be the years we witness Trump crying his eyes out as Chinese and Russian influence spreads around the globe via the US aid they offer to replace. It could make the Cuban missile crisis look like a fracas in a pub car park after closing time

You got those links to the “widely reported” 3 deaths the farmers caused yet jackanory?

She lied on her CV. Fact!

It’s being discussed because it’s politics and she is the chancellor. If it was a Tory, your pants would be round your ankles and you would be spending the time you didn’t have your dick in your hand over it retweeting anything you could find about the Tory who lied on their CV.

Those widely reported links when you get 5 mins….

The biggest thing for me is the last part. There is so much going on in the world and the BBC decide to investigate a non-story from 16 years ago and, when it turns out to be a load of shite, still publish it.

Is this coming from the top of the BBC or is the little cartel of LK, CM, et al, going rogue? Either way, they will have drawn Labours gaze and I can see them push for a non-partisan leader group, sooner, rather than later.
