City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

Let me get this straight, the tribunal has null & voided the APT rules for the last 3 years yet Masters is saying the APT rules voted in November are legal, which are just the null & voided rules with the so-called unlawful parts removed. Surely these should be also null & voided & it's a diabolical mess

Sky Sports' website finally reporting on this

Wow....City 'claim' a win...when the judgement is that the rules are void and unenforceable.

You can't get a more clear cut win than that, it's like a 6-0 thrashing that could have been ten.

Sky can't bring themselves to simpy say "City have won"

Obviously the PL are in a mess here.

I believe their argument is that the APT 1 were only unlawful because of three areas…which made all of APT 1 unlawful.

If they correct those three areas and introduce APT 2 then the whole of APT is lawful.

City must feel that isn’t the case and there is more to it or APT 2 still contains unlawful elements.

City have clearly won APT 1

The new battle is over APT2

If City win APT 2 the PL are in a World of trouble.

Is the above true? I’m unsure myself!

Makes it even more bizarre that the PL and other clubs decided to plough on, rather than wait for the tribunal outcome as we advised. At the very least it was the most sensible thing to do
I am objectively trying to understand their reasoning behind the rush. Surely they could have waited a few more months for the final verdict. Why the rush though...? And what they actually wanted to achieve, knowing full well in advance that they might have egg on the face whenever the tribunal rules in the final verdict...? What was their motive...?

Anyone has a clue? I have absolutely no clue.

X full of responses from fans of non cartel fans including Everton and Newcastle, thanking City over the ruling.
Examples:

The “Red Cartel” clubs handpicked Richard Masters to protect their best interests and he’s failed them ❌

Hopefully this breaks the shackles the “Red Cartel” clubs have over the Premier League

It’s also time for Richard Masters to move on from his post

Thank you,

Richard Masters needs to walk for this‼️

Intentionally lied to stop teams that wanted to compete. He is not fit for purpose in his role. Simple.

UNLAWFUL
UNENFORCEABLE
VOID
CORRUPT

PL sponsorship rules Null and Void

APT reg’s unlawful in their entirety

Richard Masters & the PL are the real cheats hiding in plain sight all this time for the benefit of certain clubs

Well done City & their legal team in exposing them

Champagne and Free Bar for Man City and Newcastle fans tomorrow please Richard Masters must resign

I think they thought APT 2 corrected APT 1 errors and so APT 2 would be deemed lawful if challenged. It sounds reasonable on the face of it but City think not and City were correct the first time. Who knows?

So as a fan who doesn’t live in Manchester is it ok for me to say MEN are absolute cunts?
The MUEN is owned by Trinity News.

Trinity News love the 3 Red Shirt Cartel clubs.

City don’t give the MUEN any information, updates, news, nothing, zilch.

So the MUEN/Trinity News print negative stories about City.

That’s their way of getting back at City.

Gives me even more confidence with regards the 115.
Our owners are not some naive offshore wannabes hoping to trim wages with redundancies and save a few bob to put in shareholders pockets.
We’re an uber professional company owned by people with the highest standards and integrity.
If you ever doubted them…… apologise now.

As soon as Forest, Newcastle and Villa voted against the PL, the cracks began to appear and maybe we are seeing the whole house of cards collapsing around the red cartel and their bitches, the PL and Spurs ears.

Null, void, unlawful and unenforceable. 4 little words that have started the downfall of those shithouse clubs only interested in self interest, self protectionism and self preservation.

Shitting themselves over the potential sponsorship deals lined up by Us & Newcastle so was desperate to get some new rules through maybe?

Imagine the chaos and sheer meltdown if (a big if) the tribunal declares APT 2 also unlawful.

Yet another "Popcorn time" is coming, hopefully.

@slbsn

1. Presumably this means the Etihad deal goes through in full including the escalator because the rules are now deemed void when submitted and can't be caught in the "new" Nov 24 16-4 APT rules even if the amendments are subsequently accepted when the tribunal rules again?

2. Is Samuel right about Forest and Everton in the aricle? He infers ALL financial rules are void for them because part of the rules (ie APT) are unlawful?

EDIT: Seen your tweet Stefan and Samuel going too far again about Forest and Everton
1. No. The PL position is that the November fixed the unlawfulness and, in effect, should be seen as a total re-write and are therefore in place. APT 2 will have to go ahead if that is their position.
2. No. I don't think he is.
