Newcastle United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

A game of football involving city that I could enjoy for the full 90 minutes! We looked excellent, I was worried about their pace with Isak and Gordon but I needn't have been.

If you're looking for the difference today in wide areas, just look at the relationship between Gvardiol/Marmoush and Lewis/Savinho versus their flanks. Hall was roasted time and time again, Gordon was nowhere to be seen defensively. Tripper was constantly caught between following Marmoush or holding wide for the inevitable Gvardiol charge. I have no idea who was supposed to be playing right side further forward for them, they were anonymous.

Savinho man of the match for me. But obviously Marmoush made the important difference on the first half, Nico was fantastic in his intelligence and communication, Kusa well I think we have a star defender on our hands there, can't believe he's so young.

If Arsenal are watching today your only chance of the title is this season, We have seen the future and it is blue,
When the summer comes and another transfer window opens Manchester City can add 2 or 3 world-class players and money is not a problem, it will be top-shelf signings and City will be back.

Only last week, the know it all pundits were saying, is Pep system finished because other teams have worked him out
Well, The Great Manager never sleep, Today's Best English manager found out the hard way, Pep got it covered.

WHEN, the keeper keeps getting the assists you can bet Pep is still the best manager in the world, the high press everybody keeps banging on about and Pep can not handle it, hahaha right, I think we looked scary at times and Newcastle looked lost for ideas and what was their main striker called again ??

One swallow doesn't make a summer, obviously, but there was definite hints of us getting our old mojo back there. Fingers crossed we may have finally turned a corner? We'll see.

Got a good bit off your chest there ancoats, love it

How spiffing to watch a game again where there actually seemed to be a gameplan!

So good to see players glad to be out there, really wanting the ball - instead of staring longingly at the tunnel...

Pep (whom I've slagged off as much as I have anybody) made all the changes, so credit where it's due. Let's hope the penny's dropped and we can start thinking of attack as the best means of defence again.

Bloody brilliant. Similar tactics to Chelsea at home. Absolutely love those tactics. Play longer with Haaland and Marmoush. It also plays to Edersons qualities and it showed. Nico immense. Uzbenenbaur pocketed Isak

Pleased for Rico, that will do his confidence the world of good, he must have been on a downer after recent performances,i think the key with him is not asking him to do to much, give him the one job and he will do it

Pep almost has too much faith in him. He absolutely hung the poor lad out to dry when he chucked him on at left back at half time against PSG.

Just got home.
Performance of the season that.
We looked balanced, we looked composed.
We had energy, we defended well.
We also showed for each other.
The new boys were outstanding.
Marmoush hatrick hero.
Khusanov an absolute beast, solid, quick and composed.
Nico ran that midfield.
Special mention to Savinho too, a proper threat the whole game but also did the dirty work when needed too.
I also wanna praise Rico too, he’s had some stick recently, some justified some not.
He was great today, much more like what he can be.
A big win that and against a very good side, that’s quick and well organised.
OUTSTANDING BLUES!!!
Happy fucking days.
I’ve missed this feeling : )
