Away fans / tourists in home sections

There are probably many OAPs and juniors season ticket holders which doesn’t exactly boost match day income.
Not a go at you but even thinking like this is the problem. Clubs chasing their ranking in the Deloitte’s table, or whatever it is these days, is at the root of what’s wrong with modern football. Good business management is fine but football is nothing without fans, and a business that has “customers” that stay loyal for decades would do well to bear in mind that that is a very privileged benefit of being in this industry.

My first game at Maine Road as a kid around 1958, no customers in them days.
Not a go at you.

The first time I went to Anfield in 74 it was a cauldron. It was like a bear pit on and off the pitch and they didn't need to do a cheesy singalong version of YNWA before the game started. It was pay on the gate and you had to get there two hours before kick-off to get in. It was a fantastic atmosphere but these days it is dire despite the constant media hype.
I have been to Anfield on several occasions in the mid-to-late 1960s. It was very intimidating place at the best of times. I can't recall City ever getting a result there. The last time I went was a Tuesday match in August 1969. Liverpool were leading through an early St John goal until a second half Tommy Smith own goal equalizer. I recall thinking, that they shouldn't have done that as it will rile Liverpool. Then City got a second via Ian Bowyer and I thought, maybe?

I should have know better as Liverpool scored twice in the last six minutes through St John and Hunt to win 3-2.

That tweet is absolute bullshit. You can transfer a Champions League match ticket to 'friends and family'. My son has attended every Champions League home match for the past ten years, plus the Istanbul final all via my wife's season ticket and European match scheme.

Fake truth is more real than real truth.

It’s going to get a lot worse. Every top PL club are treating their fans like shit.

A red mate told me yesterday he had the cash for 2 cup games taken out on the same day this week (FA cup and Europa ) - one game they don’t know who they are playing and the other they didn’t know what day it was on.

Modern football is a joke and will eat itself up very soon.

Can see thousands dropping out of the CL scheme next season - leave it to the neutrals and tourists
Yep, all because PSR was brought in to check the new age clubs. Now every club is fucked (bar a few), can't buy unless they sell, and the only way to bridge gaps is to fleece the fans.

I am an OAP season ticket holder and have had a season ticket since 1972 and go home and away every week, my 2 kids are junior and 18 to 21 season ticket holders and loyal as fuck. Not sure what your point is. Too much focus on match day income. We need more people in the ground who get behind the team not less

My first season ticket 1972. North Stand 36 quid. Junior 13, yes old.
A concrete pillar on an exit , entry restricted my view. I wrote to the club, and week later they had used a grinder to cut it down, so I could see the corner flag. Rodney Marsh .

£36 mate? Seems a bit steep for 1972. My first Kippax junior ST in 1975 only cost £3.60

They are not the problem, less would be more, ticket prices are leaving most people with less to spend and the high prices of food drink and everything City try to flog us does not encourage anyone to spend.
Imagine a ticket price cap of £40 maximum, £3 a pint and £2 a pie, programmes £3, just a thought, value your fans by giving them value on and off the pitch.
It's always the ones who can afford to pay that don't.
