Away fans / tourists in home sections

That would be suppression of trade surely? If they have legitimate trading licences they should be allowed to make a living.

I’ll be absolutely honest and say I really don’t understand the fixation with half and half scarves. To some people they are a reminder of their visit, to some they become part of their collection of souvenirs.
I agree that many on this thread appear to a have an unhealthy obsession with half-and-half scarves. What harm are they doing? Maybe infringing copyright, but how will anyone know? For me there are far more important issues to get into a lather about than stopping a few touts making a living on Metrolink land.

I have a similar attitude to the complaints about away fans in the 'home' sections. I know that a big chunk of the Colin Bell stand is reserved for away supporters in all European matches and has been for many years. This is presumably is following directives from UEFA. You can see them in the bar before the match and at half time. A couple of years back at the Bruges FC match, they even bought beer for me and my son. The one buying was actually a Cercle Bruges fan who had come along for the ride.

When I watched City home and away from the mid-1960s through to the early 1970s, there wasn't any any of that nonsense then as there were no 'home' or 'away' ends. That is to say other than visiting supporters being advised to avoid the likes of the Stretford End, the Kop, or the Holte End. Those away matches I have been to in the last 15 years have invariably been in the home end. This includes being in the Gallowgate End at St James' Park and the Jock Stein Stand at Parkhead, neither of which I would want to repeat!

Legitimate trade licences!?

Lol!

Have you seen the Hawkers?

They wouldn't know what a legitimate trade licence was if you showed them one.

They are costing City £10,000's selling all types of counterfeit City merchandise every home match, whilst the club claws back every penny they can from the fans.

There used to be loads of Hawkers on Market Street selling plastic tat and shit on mobile carts.

In the end MCC got a court injunction out and eventually fucked them off. I don't know if that's still the case?

That tweet is absolute bullshit. You can transfer a Champions League match ticket to 'friends and family'. My son has attended every Champions League home match for the past ten years, plus the Istanbul final all via my wife's season ticket and European match scheme.

It’s not bullshit if you’re not on the cup scheme.

If you were not on the Cup scheme, why would you want to buy a ticket and then transfer it to someone else?

I call bullshit once again!

Ask the dozens of people on here who complain about the lack of that facility, for every single home game.

It’s not bullshit at all. It impacted me and many others and was widely mentioned in the Real Madrid tickets thread.

Not the end of the world but the club would not allow tickets to be passed to those on the friends and family in in your account. I suppose for many they would rather the tickets had gone into the hands of regular blues or friends/family of blues.

The ticket office helped ensure tickets were used by genuine Blues on the day of the game. It was good that a pragmatic approach was adopted.

Yh block 324 and 325 near the back will be crawling with them.
He speaks the truth. That's where the agency tickets are, you don't need to have attended 5 games or have a membership to buy (even though that 5 game minimum purchase was supposedly for security reasons).
It will have loads of Liverpool fans, not many of the local gobby scousers but tourist types. The atmosphere is surreal up there during a big game, almost no one remotely energized when City are attacking.
The odd tourist Liverpool fan jumps up when they score, a whole row did when C*unt Alexander scored last year. There are not even enough true City fans in the area to get agitated with them, but the got evicted anyway.
If an away fan just watches the match and shuts up I don't get too wound up about them being in our end. It's the deterioration in our own atmosphere that bothers me, being sat around big numbers of passionless neutrals or undercover opposition fans = very dull and quiet = our top tiers.

When I spoke to them they point blank refused to transfer the ticket. I either got a refund or it sat empty.

So it forced me to sell the ticket back to the club rather than lose my money.

In my case, I was shafted by “friends” who asked
for my help in getting them tickets. I was looking at being a couple of hundred quid down but thankfully the Ticket Office sorted it for me.

I think it’s not bad if the Ticket Office gives refunds to Blues who are not in the Cup scheme. Yes it can be better when help is given with ticket transfers:

I would say the harm is they are taking the seats of real City fans which also means the club can push up the prices because the half n half will buy at any price.
Plus it tells you they don't support City

That's where my seat is but I rarely sit there now I go and sit further down in 323 if I can. As u said not enough true city fans In the area I actually got a bollocking off a blue for having a pop at a rag on derby day just gone work that 1 out!!!

I had a Junior season ticket in the North Stand 1975 - £6.

I had one 72 for about 3 years , until I started going in the Kippax.
Don't know where I got the 36 from.

Saturdays were great, played for school st Bedes in the morning , then walked across the Park, for a chippy dinner and the match. Bus into Aytoun street and another home to Blackley. 12 yr olds couldn't do that in todays World.

Anyone who ever had a shit in the Kippax carsey deserves a medal or a word.

A toilet roll was worth more than Gold.
The first leg v Wigan in the paly off semi final was shown on a big screen at Maine Road

My mate went for a shit that day in the kippax, it was all seater by now but still no bog roll

He took his undies off and used them and stuck them behind the cistern
