Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Pep didn't seem arsed one bit tonight, not acceptable. Horrible set up led to a thoroughly dogshit performance with some players not having a fucking clue where they were supposed to be playing
Damage was done in the last 10 minutes in the first leg. The mistake in the 4 th minute killed off any glimmer of salavaging the tie and Real Madrid gained that extra bit of swagger. Our players didn't respond.

Played like they didn’t fancy any further games in this comp this season.

We didn’t really even deserve to be given this Gutter Round to get the chance for any more games: 22nd best team in Europe, we were out after the 3-0 > 3-3 capitulation against Feyenoord.

Too many injuries, too many old men, too many young lads, too few players bang in their prime and fit anymore.
That 3-3 was the result that did us this season. When that happened we were on the back foot in this comp and our confidence was shot to pieces for games to come. It sums up the whole of 24/25 IMO. It showed what was possible with this team, in a bad way, and it’s taking us months to recover. I think it prob is good we are out. Strong finish in the league is possible and FA cup could be too if we have a fresher team available because of less games. Still lots to play for and hopefully some good fresh talent to be properly blooded in time for next season.

Eddy was also medicore. just finally seen the third goal at full pace and it just rolls in. not even in the corner. hes fat and cant move
Got to say that last comment made me laugh, so thank you. Not so sure hes fat but certainly not the most agile anymore.

Nothing didnt expect overall, can move on now and might help us domestically as nothing positive as really happened in Europe this season.

We'll have big nights again in Europe soon enough.

Pep talking about us not being able to cope physically if we aren’t controlling the game. We still need legs to control a game!

Lol,,,I'm just not sentimental pal, as I said I've loved the time with him as the boss, but it's time to go , look at it again next year we have again he's in his last year ,,no fuck this shit go now ,,I am a bit drunk but we need someone else now to steer the ship
Ye time has come, out with the old (sadly) in with the new.

He looked like he didn’t give a fuck tonight.
He used to be able to take a pass on the half turn and be away up the pitch, he seems to be receiving the ball with his back to goal now and has no clue whether an opposition player is close to him or not, so even when he’s got space behind him he’s already played the ball away. Absolutely woeful and ann incredible loss of form, he’s been utter wank all season.

M8 I'm on about pep ,,,he brought gundog back too don't forget ,,,I'd honestly just prefer it if he walked ,,if it's the end of the season ,so be it
I hate to say it, but if we keep turning up with team selections and performances like that then the questions are going to start.

It wasn't so much the personnel, for me, as the formation, which was utterly nonsensical.

To play two up front together and have them completely isolated from a flat four midfield some thirty yards behind them was never going to see us create anything. What's the point in having pace if they are so high up the field that they are never going to get the ball from a painfully slow midfield at moving that ball forward?

I can't remember the last time we played 4-4-2, so to try that today was just bizarre. It really was a piss poor set-up and that was apparent from the first ten minutes.
it wasnt 4-4-2 - it was an attempt at a return to false 9 or if you want 4-6-0

however mamoush and sav clearly couldnt play it. - if Haaland pulled out this morning then that wouldnt have been a lot of time to train a new system

people dont want to see it but it IS the personnel - those on the pitch and those not - this is where the team has dropped off

Gundo - awful - he has had one good game this season
Bernardo - one of my favourite players ever but his race is run
Stones - made of glass
KDB unavailable but i suspect had he even been fit it would have actually been worse certainly from a defensive point of view.
No walker or a replacement - zero criticism of Khusonov who equipped himself quite well BUT he aint world class as of this moment and no one could expect him to be

now take those players plus rodri back 3 years - not injured, prime of playing career -add them back into that team and you see the differece.....

Rebuild needed

It was exactly like watching us batter Real Madrid less than 2 years ago. Which shows you how quickly a team can turn when things click. We will be fine. There’s nothing to fear, nothing to doubt.
Seriously Dave,,do you think pep will sort it,, remember he's going , "again" into his last year,,,i do,,,but do you not think it's just better if he goes ,,,I love the guy by the way

But it didn't mean that we could totally down tools tonight, there was only a goal in it at the start of the game
