I'm sure plenty of English football journalists have pointed out that Marmoush in 3 games, has scored as many PL hat tricks as world class Marcus Rashford in 7 seasons

See folks ? that's what Erling has to deal with a lot of times, no service at all and completely ignoring his runs to play the slow rubbish.

No service and no focal point to play off where his runs could have made more of a difference. Felt like he was trying to make the same runs as the weekend but never got into the same spaces because of the lack of Haaland up there occupying their centre halves.

Doesn't change my opinion that he's a really exciting addition to our forwardline.

Don't let this game change your opinion of any player, there was nothing to learn about the players.

I would say we learned more about Pep.

Couldn't be expected to do much when we persisted with slow or piss poor build up. That sequence of Gundo & Gvardiol passes showed how daft a strategy it was as they looked up and saw Marmoush vs the 2 CBs.

Hard to really tell anything from a few games but it looks like he's not particularly at home when leading the line. Definitely looks like he prefers playing off a striker. The few times we did attack tonight, the positions he took up were ones you'd expect him to take up if Haaland was on the pitch rather than the positions of someone playing as the lone striker. That pretty much tells you he's far more comfortable playing off a striker.

He's going to be a very good player for us when used correctly with Erling, especially if the team realise we have two very quick forwards that will destroy defences if you move the ball quickly, rather than slow build up play.

Tough night for him tonight. He had very little to work with.

Not a 9. He is best with Haaland there as well, behind the striker. He has the skills and is absolutely not the reason why we lost tonight. We have a bright future to look forward to having a player like him.
