Yeah. Looked decent in a decent set up against Newcastle. Looked shit in a shit set up against Madrid. Like Gonzalez.Starting 2 games in a week was a bad shout - particularly as we were set up completely differently to how we were vs Newcastle. Just hung out to dry a fair bit
Hope his missus doesn’t mind having the shits.hopefully he has enough dignity not to take up the extra year and try for a last year at a decent level by going to turkey which is what he always wanted to do wasnt it?
I don’t necessarily consider him the heir apparent, but should circumstances ever arise whereby Guardiola cannot continue, then it makes sense to have someone in place who can assume control even if only temporarily.Any particular reason why some here think he should be in line to take over from Pep?
I would like him to stay in a coaching capacity. If the return had gone according to plan - ie not so many injuries he could have been used sparingly as an impact sub. I imagine he feels pretty dross about how the return has played out.Has been asked to play far more than either party could have imagined and has been involved in every match, save three. Thought he left at the optimal time for both parties so not going to criticise him now. Will be 35 in October, however, so even playing time in Turkey would be a stretch. I’d much prefer him to remain and it might be prudent for the club to appoint him to the coaching staff.
And why or how is Gundogan qualified to assume control of Manchester City?I don’t necessarily consider him the heir apparent, but should circumstances ever arise whereby Guardiola cannot continue, then it makes sense to have someone in place who can assume control even if only temporarily.
He’s not. Just think it would be prudent to have someone who can step into the breach should need ever arise. And why or how is Gundogan qualified to assume control of Manchester City?
Of all the people we could go to for help in the event that Pep abruptly leaves, I don't see Gundogan as one of them. It would be completely insane and irresponsible of the club to do something like that. He’s not. Just think it would be prudent to have someone who can step into the breach should need ever arise.
I used the word ‘temporarily’ in the sense of 1-2 games or until a permanent replacement were found.Of all the people we could go to for help in the event that Pep abruptly leaves, I don't see Gundogan as one of them. The club would give the job to the MCWFC before giving it to Gundogan and as crazy as that sounds it makes more sense than giving the reins of a billion pound project to a completely inexperienced person.
The "Gundogan taking over Pep" situation is just not happening, maybe 3 or 4 years into his managerial career (if he wants one) but at the moment, it's just not happening.
Ok, for a second I was wondering if you wanted us to go down the sentiment route, that's how you end up in a situation similar to the one the rags find themselves in now.I used the word ‘temporarily’ in the sense of 1-2 games or until a permanent replacement were found.
