President Trump

Based on Dax's posts, I think the likelihood that Dax will ever vote for a Democrat once more are vanishingly small.
You may be right but TBF he didn’t vote for Trump in 16 or 20. He’s also not a cult member. It’s all relative. Some of the stuff I see or hear in the U.S. is far and away more over the edge than anything Dax has ever posted. He just expects Trump to execute policies he wants. But obviously the incredible awfulness that comes with Trump — we vote for people, not policies — makes him an instant non-starter as I believe it should for anyone with common sense. I, for example, wouldn’t mind the dismantling of the CFPB which I think was ill-conceived despite its mission. But I sure as fuck am not going to vote for Trump just to see that happen. Dax called him “an idiot, all of the time”. Once that’s your thought process, the logical steps to voting for him are effectively impossible for me to follow.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll pass, thanks.
I'd rather eat live frogs
You guys need to work out your positions on the power, privilege, oppression scale. Once you've worked that out one of you can contact the mods and demand that the oppressor be immediately banned because they (the oppressed) feel threatened while the oppressor is still allowed to post.

BlueMoon must be a safe space for the oppressed and marginalised to express themselves.

If either of you want me to stand witness to the multiple microaggressions that have flown back and forth between you two, don't be fearful I'm an ally.

We all need to feel free to bring our full self to the forum, might I suggest the oppressor read....

Surely that’s not a real book (I know it’s in Severance)

Well, that was fun!

Another character assassination pogrom has now concluded. I'll see some of you guys at the next one. Hopefully in 6 months or more... We don't want this to become so common after all.

Now lets get this thread back on track... Its about Trump, stupid!!!

it can only be days before The Coast Guy gets a call to ask if he wants to be Trumps Special Adviser on Climate and Communicable Diseases

Somewhat related - though I disagree with her view is this...

She's right that Trump voters by-in-large lack empathy - putting self-interest ahead of all else. Now that some have been personally screwed by Trump, they've had a change of heart and are joining social media sites adverse to MAGA.

I agree with Rebecca Watson insofar as most of those experiencing buyer's remorse are largely unchanged, apart from their newfound personal grievance with the President - nonetheless I'd welcome them as joiners of forums opposed to Trump.

The first step in any possible turn-around in US politics is to vote MAGA politicians out of office, and the newly disenfranchised will help if we let them - the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

I don’t agree with him the vast majority of the time on Trump but I don’t agree with you here either.

It’s classic Bluemoon political thread tactics of you either agree with me wholeheartedly or I will stick you into a convenient box and call you thick, stupid, racist and I will even suggest you have mental issues.

He gets dogs abuse on here for being a republican who voted for and supports Trump. He then gives back with more than a hint of sarcasm in his posts.

You want empathy from him but show him none but let’s cut to the chase here, you don’t want empathy, you just don’t want anyone offering a different opinion.

I engaged with him the other night, made it quite clear I disagreed with him but I didn’t feel the need to then abuse him.
If he was genuine then fair enough but he gaslights and lies. If he owned it and praised Trumps actions that’s one thing, but he doesnt he says that’s not what trump means or says trump was taken out of context. Or just created a pathetic straw man. Hes a bellend mate.

I feel precisely the opposite. Anyone voting for Trump or failing to vote against him is either actively supporting fascism or is enabling it. Some in the MAGA camp can perhaps be excused - living exclusively in an echo chamber full of lies.

Dax, on the other hand, is here on this forum, exposed to the anti-fascist viewpoint. All he need do is apply critical thinking and engage in fact checking to determine what's what. Yet he persists in support of MAGA. He's beyond reach of reason and is in defense of the indefensible.

same goes with Brexit - Starmer and Labour are covertly changing things - if they want growth the best way to go about it will be ease friction and movement to trade with the nearest trade bloc. However - in respect of the die hards who won't accept they were lied to clearly because to do so would be to admit their own fallibility then they deserve all they get. If you voted Farage as your MP and live in Clacton and can see he is never there then he is failing you - don't blame the blob or the system or the "hard left" or Muslims or migrants YOU are the problem and you have been had. Best way to address your failings is recognise them publicly and in that case its make sure he is a one term wonder
