I can see raw potential but I also see someone that would be much better as a centre back and not as a right back. Would much rather he partnered Gvardiol in the middle and we brought in proper fullbacks. In the meantime, however, just need to get as many minutes into him this season.
Gvardiol is too good of a footballer to just be a centre back.

The LB spot is his and I’m happy with that

FFS needs must, we don't have a RB at this time , Walker gone,, Nunes crap and Akanji crocked.

The lad just played against one of the best teams in the world and against one of the worlds best players Vini Jnr and held his own, respect to the lad.

In the summer we will sign a RB and the kid will become a full time CB.
Not sure where your frustration arises, as I think we’re saying the same thing.

The centre backs, for me, are vital as they dictate how we bring the ball out, and, with proper passing ability, they should be able to penetrate the press and release the midfield. I also think there may be even better left backs out there who would make us even more dynamic.

CB pls.

Sick of watching a bunch of absolute fannies trying to keep a clean sheet. This guy is going to make mistakes because of how aggressive he is but I'd rather watch him give everything to stop a goal than whatever it is the others have been doing.

He will be over time, but right now he's out best option at RB.

OK I'll bite, who do you see as our best option?
There’s no good option but I’d be inclined to play Rico there provided there is more physicality around him in the team. The Newcastle game showed how this will work.

Putting Khusanov there is like putting Dias there. The lad isn’t a RB - he’s an archetypal old school central defender.

Plus I don’t want Ake and Dias going down with injury. I think you really are taking the risk playing them together for a string of games

To be fair mate I would rather play my long dead nanna at right back than Rico.

Well it worked against Newcastle. Don’t want to be in a position where all our CB’s are injured.

We’re very close to having JSP come back into this team

Rico spent all of his time in midfield that day not at right back, OK it says right back on the team sheet but he seems to play where he wants.

The scouse will have a field day against him we shouldn't be playing him at all.

Has to be first defender on the team sheet. Looked pretty composed when everyone else around him were flailing messes.

It will be ignored that instead of closing down their scorer he retreated to the 6 yard box then went out to close him down and got megged. However, other than that and losing the ball in defence once he was ok

He’s been at the club five minutes, hasn’t played in the league before and can’t speak a word of the King’s.

But he actually looks our most settled and composed defender.
