Well said. All the boo boys are no where to be seen today
Hi lads, one of the usual cunts here. Was away today so didn’t see any of the game either in person or on screen so that’s why I’ve not been on here commenting on his performance. Can’t speak for any of the other usual cunts & boo boys. I’ll pop something in the thread Wednesday night though.

Good to see the usual cunts are absent from this thread , he was excellent today

He’s a kid making his way in the toughest league in the world , playing for a team that’s been really struggling for consistency

He’s a blue, he puts loads of effort in and he’s got real quality

50 year old men bemoaning his physicality can get in the bin
I’m not 50, but I am one of the usual cunts. Missed the game this afternoon, so can’t comment on that. If he had a great game today, I’m well pleased to hear it. I genuinely want to be proven wrong about him.

“He’s a blue and he puts loads of effort in”
100% agreed on that.

He’s a system player. He’s not alone in that.

He just looks worse than most when the team structure isn’t in harmony.

I wouldn’t say he’s worst than most but he stands out. If the midfield don’t help, it looks like it’s him.

He messed up v Madrid & I’m thinking how the fuck can I stick up for you when you do that ;)

When Dias is fit he will be on the bench. The three others that started today are before him.
I like being a ****

he didn't mess up v madrid Kovacic sent him an imposible ball to deal with.

Rico wasn't the reason the 3rd was scored that was all on that dozy **** Kova

I agree but with a little bit of experience he’d have dealt with it. I ask myself “What would Fernandinho have done?” At 32 he’d have stopped him with either a yellow or a red but he wouldn’t have at 20.

I think the kids great, very few will gave mentioned his involvement in getting Foden into the position for the penalty.

He was good yesterday.

He's capable of good games for sure but im still not sure I see him as a long term right back for us. I think there's got to be better players out there to do that job long term. That's just my opinion of course.

What has this got to do with anything, his physicality isn't going to get any better is it. Its still a huge weakness and will get regularly exposed. He has Khusanov to thank for bailing him out a couple of times if we are honest.

It doesn't take away from what he offered moving forward, he picked up a few great positions, played some nice passes and was available for passes in and around the midfield all game which worked great for us.

Best performance he's put in since the first handful of games this season, where he was arguably our best player.

Hopefully he can build on that and get his confidence back up.

But I swear if he does anymore of that weak shit that lead to Real's winner then I don't want to see him for the rest of the season. He needs to learn to be a ****. He's got it in him.

His physicality should improve as he gets older. He's only 20, some men are still growing into their early 20s. He's got a lot to learn undoubtedly, but he's playing in a position where mistakes are generally punished so it's a tough gig for him. Against Real he needed to put his foot in and clear out ball, man and anything else in the way. But it wasn't a pass that should have been played in the first place in his defence and he got caught in two minds. Give the lad time. A lot to learn, but it's incredibly harsh to pin our issues this season on him when so many others have been below par. Nico in midfield made us so much better and whilst the media like to think injuries aren't an excuse, losing Rodri has been horrific for us.

Nothing new here. He is good when we are dominating and he doesn't have to do any defending. Against any opposition that actually troubles us, he is toast.
When we defend as a team, he's ok, but when he gets isolated he struggles a lot. This is where Walker would get us out of trouble, Gvardiol i don't feel is also great here at times but as a CB he has much more experience in those kinds of duels. Rico isn't a right back just like Zinchenko/Delph weren't left backs, but in a team that is stable and works together he can look good.

I'll admit I missed the first 15 minutes, but since then I feel he's played quite well.

Obviously I could have missed some important things early on though.

No worse than most others yet gets the most criticism despite being a kid that's learning the game.
