We’ve all been pissed off by the likes of wobble gob and his comedy sidekick Micah Richards - but not all pundits are annoying knobheads.

For a bit of positivity here’s some pundits who I think actually do a good job:

Mark Chapman - even though he’s a rag he’s fair and objective. Quite serious, very old school BBC.

Ian Wright - doesn’t hide his allegiances but he’s always been fair to City and he knows what the club means given his son’s deep connections.

Gary Lineker - this one will polarise some people but I’ve always liked him

Ian Wright is murder.City have turned him into a bitter ****.
Micah is good with Lineker and Shearer.Joe Hart has started brilliantly.
Keane can be decent as well.My main controversial one.
Up north James McFadden and Neil McCann are good.
So
McFadden Hart and McCann for me.

Souness was ok but binned off because he was not relevant (according to Sky) anymore!
Nedum is great but not high profile enough to get the prize jobs
Micah novelty value ended years ago and now he shows himself up
Carragher is a Scouse cheerleader who should have been sacked years ago for what he did.
The best thing about Neville is that his entire pundit career has coincided with The RAGS been shit. Ditto Keane

They are pretty much all dreadful, the fact that Spitty and Neville get the majority of big games says it all. And it says more when I prefer Neville, I think he at least tries to be neutral, albeit fails, spit is just a scouse mouthpiece.

Micah showed his true colours with the off/on screen comment.

Nedum is great but doesn't get anything of note because he's too articulate to discuss neutrally with idiots.

I understand that Ned has turned down offers of a regular spot, preferring to be peripatetic.

Joe Hart is coming across well so far. Troy Deeney isn't that bad either. You tend to find the best ones are on Radio Five such as Nedum and Pat Nevin, both are intelligent and articulate which is more than you can say for all the Sky mob apart from Keane.

Pat Nevin is pretty good I agree.

I really hope Joe Hart gets more opportunities, if that’s what he wants to do next of course.

Haven’t watched or listened to a pundit in years. Couldn’t care less what some washed up pro who usually is a failed manager has to say. Pat Nevin was decent iirc . American Football pundits crap all over the round ball ones.

Problem with pundits these days is they look for sound bite headlines. They are genuinely were poor at analysing the play ir providing really useful insight.

I thought Troy Deeneys piece on us last night showing the rhythm of our passing in the same fixture last season compared to yesterday was very interesting. It made me miss those days.

Punditry on Sky is at an all time low. With Richards and Sturridge as bad as you can get, and Carragher and Neville thinking that they're above the league and judge jury and executioner on everything that happens in it.

Jobi McAnuff is pretty decent, as was Liam Rosenior before he went into management.

James Horncastle is very good too, but is all substance and no entertainment. An inverse Micah Richards.

There is an over familiarity problem with a lot of pundits. If viewers see them 5 times every week, then the pundits will run out of new things to say pretty quickly, so unless something out of the ordinary happens in the games they’re covering, they’ll either get boring or play up to the cameras.

Switched Skys pre match programme on Saturday. Is it Dave Jones (anchor) joined by Paul Merson, Clinton Morrison, Tim Sherwood and Craig Dawson … switched it off immediately!

James Horncastle is excellent, hilarious last week on TNTs goal show corrected Keown when he said during the goals show that Antony is playing badly.....even though he was watching Real Sociedad.

Lescott is very good, said a few things that made me think unlike most of them who are thick as pig shit.

Daniel Sturridge also stated at half time. That we might see Haaland come on soon if things don't change despite him not even being in the squad.

These are basics.

Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville are living testament to Socrates' bastardised observation that the only true wisdom is knowing that you they know nothing.

Can't be many who've shoehorned those three into one sentence....
