If Newcastle don’t get champions league football, which is top 5 this year I believe, I can see us going after Bruno again. We need 2 8’s and he is clearly liked by Pep.

Pep has said a lot recently about how these players are the players that have been here, won it all, he’ll always trust etc. but Viana coming in means he can be ruthless and get rid of some that Pep might be more inclined on keeping. Obviously we need to recruit well to replace.

I know exactly what you were talking about, I still think that’s part of why any club does it. At worst we broker a deal where we ensure we get paid out on who buys him from Ipswich, they effectively purchase our rights. Happens plefty of times - look at our Nico Gonzalez deal, where Barca got a percentage of the sale.

No problem with sell on clauses
I wouldn't like the club to be buying back players who have buy back clauses and then selling them on straight away to make a quick profit

Delap doesn't have a real say, certainly in terms of City trigger their recall option.

He wouldn't be happy but that's business.

If that's the case it would be a PR disaster and rightly so.

We make a quick profit but the damage to our reputation would be huge in my opinion.

If Delap genuinely wants to come back and become part of our squad it's a no brainer of a deal but if he doesn't then let him go to the club of his choice.
