President Trump

So, anyway, back to Trump...

The guy has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize FOUR times. and is desperately fishing for another nomination for his 'sterling' work on Ukraine.

He's so angry that 'Barrack Hussain Obama' has one.

Honestly, which sycophantic asshats nominated this guy?
Can you imagine how many Nobel prize winners would send their prize back?

I do get this feeling that Trump believes everything he is told, thinking that nobody would lie to him because he is so powerful.

It’s the only thing that makes sense. Seeing Macron confirming that Trump had got it wrong, with the world watching on, yet he still wants to believe it’s not true and what he’s been told is correct.
...
The complimentary way Zelensky and European leaders are facing King Trump reminds me of
'The Emperor's new clothes'...

trump's narcissism makes him blind about reality, facts and his own position as it seems.
That weakness is being addressed now.

trump will get to the point sooner or later when his mouthy predictions all didn't come true. What's he going to do then?

He has the same problem like the ruzzian dictator - no exit strategy.
They can't row back being self proclaimed super heroes.
He will look like a slapped arse - or he will go full tilt.

Trump is in danger of looking like a fool if either of 2 things happen.

1 USA withdraw support and Russia gain the upper hand. In this scenario Trump has failed to end the war and looks like a Putin stooge.

2 USA withdraw support and European countries ramp up support and start pushing Russia back. Again Trump looks like a Putin stooge and American military standing takes a knock.

So the stakes are pretty high for a deal to be done and Trump needs a resolution to this to move past it. If we are still talking about the war in Ukraine at the mid terms next year Republicans will be in a bad place.

I expect there's quite a lot of thought between European govts about how much Trump has to lose if he doesn't end the way (by himself, obviously).

If he's not getting anywhere, what does he do? Throw Russia under the military donkeys, or start making better and better offers?

Russia of course is probably thinking the same and trying to push him the other way.

Good thing he has Hegseth to advise him.

Why the hell does Trump need a third term? Step one -- convince current red Congress to eliminate the 130-day tenure limit on SGEs before the mid-terms. Step two -- Vance or someone wins the election in 2028. Step three -- Vance or someone appoints Trump a "for life" SGE. What do people think the Musk experiment is about?

Hopefully the McDonald's diet will end that option.

The “trick,” if there is one, is to get it to SCOTUS to review it. From there, all bets are off!!
In so far as there is an argument on the issue of the 22nd amendment, here is how it probably works.

Example:

Barack Obama runs as the V.P. Candidate to some chumb, lets say your Governor Pritzker. Pritzker gets in office after winning and then resigns for some reason....

Obama then would be able to ascend to the presidency and invariably have a 3rd term.

That scenario is the only potential loophole to the 22nd amendment as written. Nothing else...
