All?

A friend of mine from Argentina is 6'3"

I'm 6'2" and spent a bit of time in Brazil and Colombia and met plenty of fellas around my height all the time.

Maybe on average there might be some truth to it statistically...but all? Of course not.

Did you eat all the small ones?

hahahaha WTF! jokes aside, in % we might be shorter than many Euro countries, that BTW it's not the same as tiny.

Yet in any case many countries have such a population that you always have a Pool of talent to even have for instance great Volley, Rugby, Basquetball players and obviously big football players.

Yet what might happen more often, it's that some Clubs have been a little more leniant on using smaller dudes if they are skill enough, specially if those are bulky.
Yet it's true that even down here the Aimar, Saviola, Echeverri type will always have more questions asked than the typical give me a 1.80 athlete. It depends a lot on scouts, tendencies of the academy in question, etc.

Ignore him mate. He’s a Lithuanian. They’re all drunks that eat nothing but potatoes and cabbage.

Tall drunks...I get his point of view now, they tend to be tall mofos, it gets double dizzie the mix of booze and height there.

I suspect the influence of the native Andean peoples in the S. American gene pool can account for some of the general shortness observed.
