I've said the same about the cup this season. Win this, qualify for CL next season and have a fruitful summer rebuild. Not too bad for an off season.
As well as winning and/or earning a fortune from the CWC this summer. Or have you accidentally on purpose forgotten about that? ;-)

It would be a fantastic season. Standards might be different now, but during our baron run all I dreamed of was winning a cup. It would be a huge boost and great experience for the new players at the club. Gives them a taste of success and helps us kick on next season with that under our belt. I would much rather win the FA Cup than qualify for the CL, and might be in the minority on that. But football is about winning things, not making prize money. I don't look back on our revenues with the same pride I have for winning the league or cups!

Moot point as we'll be fine for the CL next season anyway in my opinion.
Hope youre right re CL, when Dias gets injured we are going to be relying on the kids, big ask.

It was Bournemouth that the Premier League changed the stadium requirements for. They were originally not going to be allowed to be promoted.

Thanks for giving me a good laugh. I mean, it's totally made up nonsense but looks like you took a few people in from the likes so well done.

In case of any doubt, we complied with all the requirements of the PL in time for the start of our first season in the Premier League. No rules were changed, adjusted or tweaked to make that happen. There was never any question that we wouldn't be allowed to be promoted.

Yeah, the stadium capacity is an issue but not every club gets gifted a £77 million contribution toward building a new one. Plus not every area has brownfield sites on which to build one. In fact, some places have zero suitable locations for a new stadium, making moving somewhere else all but impossible, whilst also facing a bunch of legal restrictions in their current location, making developments in the current spot incredibly problematic.

The new owners seemed unshakeably confident they can make it happen but let's see what happens when the planning application goes public which should, hopefully, happen within the next six months now the new training complext is about to open.

Really wish we hadn't drawn you but that's how it goes. At least we can all hope it will be a decent game with both teams trying to attack instead of a ninety minute siege.

Seriously keep forgetting about that thing.
I'd quite like us to win it because despite it obviously being something "new" and a cash-grab from FIFA, I actually think it is going to end up being massive years down the line and very important for football globally down the line. Especially considering the massive exposure it will give clubs from another continents.

So I'd love us to take it relatively seriously and become the first official winners of it

And neither am I. My mental capacity and energy is used for helping and supporting my lovely OH and the life changing illness he has with all that involves. Footy and and 'conspiracy theories' are just an amusing distraction.

And just to inform you, I do believe there is some truth in the 'conspiracy theories' ; big betting companies in Asia have a lot to answer for......
Well I wish them the very best.

That still doesn't mean the fa cup draw is rigged against us ; )

Nice thought, but if it messes up our Premier League season no thanks! Don't forget the next year will be the World Cup. I know that's the same for every top team, but we just can't seem to allow the players to have a proper break in the summer to rest their minds and bodies.

On The Bournemouth draw: probably the hardest fixture we could've had. We'll get a better feel of who goes through with our league form before this game.

Personally I'd counter it with having all teams qualified for Europe not being eligible for the League Cup (to make it more winnable for smaller teams and have ticket to europe in the pot for them) that season but I know it is a controversial thought

I know some folks are viewing CWC as a pain. I'm not. Gives new players time to gel with the team, and it would be absolute karma to beat Real Mardarsez in the final.

( nb huge assumptions being made by me that we will play well!!).

Is it being televised? Or is that a no because the Red cartel teams are conspicuous by their absence?

Going off thread title topic, so very brief. Approx 50m euros to participate, maybe 100m for winners.

What size stadium do you think Bournemouth could sustain?

Current capacity reported as 11,307.

Would a ground of 25,000 capacity be about the right size?

The problem with their Ground is because the Stands are so low the TV coverage is awful. It's like watching a game at pitchside and provides no indicators of space and player movement

A few years ago it was mooted to be around 18k, with a possible expansion to 24k. Given their investment and on field improvement, I would guess a stadium of around 20-24k would be feasible if they stay in the Premier League. Bournemouth alone has a population of around 200k, and Poole not far behind, Christchurch about 50k and surrounding small towns and with villages combined collectively account for around half a million within a short drive. If Brighton can do it, so can Bournemouth.

CWC is being streamed on DAZN (no subscription required) thanks to an exclusive deal sold by FIFA.

Just looking at the near impossible task of getting a ticket for Bournemouth as their capacity is just over 11k. Was wondering what the capacity of each of our stands are individually. I would assume any one of our stands has a greater capacity than the whole of the Vitality stadium.

At least one mathematically has to be. We have a capacity of 55k. Divided by 4 that’s 13.75k. Meaning at least one stand has to be bigger. I would assume the south, colin bell and east stand can all hold more on their own.

There is a huge waiting list for season tickets for Bournemouth, but fifteen years ago before the south stand was built, they couldn’t get close to filling 8000 seats.
