Club World Cup - Summer 2025

in spite of the farcical ticket distribution, all flights and accommodation booked and tickets sorted, doing philadelphia, atlanta and orlando, looking forward to a blue summer after such a disappointing season
Did you go for upper or lower tier

The first game could be a good photo opportunity if we all meet outside the Philadelphia City Hall and re-enact the Rocky Balboa run up the steps

In fact that might be more enjoyable than the actual game.
Bloody hell, it half killed me just walking up those steps a couple of years ago!

I think all the European teams should withdraw from this. Also we should have an extra euros the summer of the world cup being held there

Went to Philly quite a few years ago.

Anyone any recent experience of the place?
Is it safe llate on etc?
Went a couple of years ago - loved the place. A few good Irish pubs.

Stayed near the city hall and was perfectly safe. I think there’s some sketchy parts but never really came across them.

Lived here for 64 of my 69 years, it has all of the problems of any urban metropolis. I haven't encountered any of them. Looking forward to meeting some of you and raising a pint or 5.
BTW, the "Rocky" steps are at the Museum of Art not City Hall they are at either end of the Ben Franklin Parkway, on of the world's classic boulevards.

It's easy to find the more unsavory parts of any major city while scrolling YouTube. When I was a kid, Kensington was the football (soccer) capital of the East Coast. In fact on one small block there was 12 football/social clubhouses, Kensington back in the day, was a solid working class neighborhood full of wonderful people who cared for and looked after one and other. As you can see, those days are gone.
Anyone coming to Philadelphia for the City match will not/shouldn't be anywhere near Kensington, unless you care to be involved in nefarious activities.
