All the more heartbreaking when you consider how Ellie seems like such a no-fuss, polite, quiet hard worker. Most people would think... the ideal type of person to have working for you.Good interview with Ellie Roebuck today about her recovery from a stroke. Really glad to see her enjoying life again.

Ellie Roebuck: Ex-Manchester City goalkeeper on recovering from stroke
Barcelona and England goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck speaks to BBC Sport's Jo Currie about recovering from a stroke.www.bbc.co.uk
Couldn't help but notice this particular quote about you know who. I can't believe the club hierarchy aren't seeing this kind of thing come up repeatedly and not thinking something needs to change.

Esme is a lifelong City fan, and a wonderful young woman. She appears to be quite happy with her current club and this pleases me. She's also still getting England call ups despite not playing for a big WSL club. That's the thing isn't it. I can imagine it's not too difficult to have a clash of personality with a confident and outspoken player like Lucy Bronze (not that there's anything wrong with a player being cnofident). But people like Roebuck and Esme Morgan seemed like such easy characters to work with, and despite the manner of Chloe Kelly's exit leaving a sour taste, she had also seemingly been of great character and a well liked member of the squad. Taylor has been well backed in the transfer market but it's pointless if he's torching relationships with his squad. I honestly get the feeling that he was given a job managing adult women when his previous experience was working with boys and he hasn't been able to adapt his communication style when making that step. The optics are bad, there's a welfare issue too and it also isn't producing great results on the pitch either. I have a horrible feeling that Jess Park might be the next player we lose because of him.

I would think that's standard practise when something serious crops up, City's doctors will be focussed on football injuries, they won't have any expertise in brain issues, so send her to A&E where there will be specialists in that sort of thing will be available. Even a footballer with a broken leg will go to A&E, I'm sure that is where Christian Eriksen would have taken when he collapsed. Also, to me it's slightly concerning that the club's doctors just fobbed her off to A&E. Was this more disrespect? Certainly wouldn't have happened to a men's team player, but what about an in-favour women's team player? Straight to Spain? You'd have liked to think so.

Great that she's recovered, and is now playing again, though it sounds like she still has some hanover effects. Great pity that after all the time she spent at City she felt disrespected by the manager.
This bothers me to no end.Japan just defeated the USA 2-1 in the final of SheBelieves Cup. It was a very good game from both team, particularly Japan. Our own Hasegawa and Yamashita were superb. Hasegawa were behind the 2 goals, that in addition to bossing the midfield. Yamashita saved several shots from the Americans. Most of her distributions including the long range were on target. She should always be our number 1. That was the first defeat of the US after Hayes took over, and funnily enough it was at the hands of our ex-women director of football Nielsen. As a side note, Nielsen appears to be an outstanding coach. Japan was already a very good team, and he is already transforming them to play quick, and direct football. Not sure why we didn’t hire him as a coach to replace the genius. Perhaps we didn’t hire him for the same reasons: he was going to make our women’s team play quick, and direct football. And all of City teams MUST play the 200-passes football, even if it doesn’t always work.

He obviously knew he wasn't staying that long.
And or had a secret grudge and thought extending Gareth would be a way to get even. :)He obviously knew he wasn't staying that long.
This is what bothers me. There is absolutely ZERO reason for the Women's team to have to play the same as the Men’s team. Zero. Full stop.
It all goes back to a statement from Khaldoon in one of his season end interviews in which he said, and I paraphrase as it's been a while:This is what bothers me. There is absolutely ZERO reason for the Women's team to have to play the same as the Men’s team. Zero. Full stop.
They don’t feed into the men's team and never will. I can see the Under 21s, etc learning to and having to play a certain way. They are hoping to play for City's first team.
But, the women's team manager should be able to play the style of football he wants and that he thinks will win games. Playing direct football isn't always a bad thing even if it is simply a "Plan B."
I know.. I just think it hamstrings, the manager a little bit.. Or maybe it hamstrings them a lot.It all goes back to a statement from Khaldoon in one of his season end interviews in which he said, and I paraphrase as it's been a while:
If you watch any team that is a member of CFG they will be instantly recognisable that they are a member of the group from just the style of play. That's what we want to achieve.
Might explain her shitty performances of late
