I'm unsure on the reasons why but Bournemouth sources do seem to think Huijsen and Kerkez will be absent.

Edit: Seems red cards apply to all domestic games but accumulated bookings only apply to FA Cup games. Bit weird. Never known that before.

Making yellow cards competition specific was introduced maybe 6 or 7 years ago, to encourage teams to play stronger sides in cup games.

Straight reds for things like violent conduct have to be across the board really, or you’d get situations like the Millwall goalie going completely unpunished until next season at least. And a ban in theory taking several years to be served.

If City don't win it this year, then it will be won by a team that has never won it in their entire history, or won by a team that hasn't won it in decades.
Until the penalty shootout last night, Ipswich were the last team to win it in 1978 (vs Arsenal).
Now that they are no longer in the competition the last previous winner was Forest in 1959.
Previous to that was Villa in 1957 .
And Preston North End won it in 1937.
And the likes of Fulham, Bournemouth , Crystal Palace and Brighton have never won it ever.
So there is a very good chance that there may be a different name on the glorious old trophy this season.
( It's normally won by one of the " Big 6" in the past 25 years or so").

It would hurt to lose any of our remaining games in the FA Cup but another team having their day in the sun would make me feel better about it. We've been on one heck of a journey since the takeover, but those two days at Wembley in 2011 are above so many special days and nights we've had since then. Another fanbase having one of those special days is fine by me.

Exactly my thoughts as well Bob. Those 35 years from 1976 to 2011 were a prolonged nightmare,so us legacy City fans know what a trophy drought is like.
As always, may the best team win .

So we better win it and fuck the sentiment

If we don't beat Bournemouth I'll be more than fine with Bournemouth winning the whole thing, but for obvious reasons i'd much prefer for us to beat them and go on to win it.

Obviously, that goes without saying. Fuck the other 7 quarter - finalists.
C'mon City !!
I genuinely think if that was a draw 2 years ago the cup was ours
But this season can’t call it
If we don’t win it at least all the teams I hate can’t

Interesting. I’m not sure there would be 4 TV slots available on the Saturday though as there’s a full programme of EFL fixtures that day meaning surely the 3pm blackout will apply? If it does then it will mean that there are realistically only 3 TV slots:

12.15/12.30
5.15/5.30/5.45
7.45/8.00

If they don’t show any flex on midweek games I think we’d get one 12.15 game, two at 5.30 on different channels and one at 8pm all on the Saturday.

Both the midweek and weekend are TV scheduling/viewership issues, but who wields the bigger stick, Sky/TNT/PL or BBC/ITV/FA ?!

If they are all Saturday, can see the London derby maybe getting the late slot.

Surely the 3pm blackout can be suspended for one Saturday, and have 12-15, 3-00, 5-30 and 8-15.
Are any supporters of EFL clubs really going to prefer, say Brighton-Forest, to watching their own team?
